On August 18, Chery’s Jetour brand opened its Shanhai L7 Plus plug-in hybrid SUV for pre-sales, with six trims available at a price ranging from 139,900 to 189,900 yuan (19,500 to 26,400 USD). Both 5- and 7-seater layouts are offered with comprehensive ranges of 1,630 km and 1,700 km. The new car is a bigger version of the Shanhai L7.

The Jetour Shanhai L7 Plus has a refreshed design. In the front, the C-shaped headlights are integrated with a through-type light strip. In the rear, the vertical taillight cluster on both sides are also integrated with a through-type light strip.

The Jetour Shanhai L7 Plus has body dimensions of 4810/1930/1705 mm (l/w/h), and a 2820 mm wheelbase, which is 61 mm longer, 30 mm wider, and 15 mm shorter than the Shanhai L7.

Chery’s Falcon 500 ADAS is onboard the vehicle, except for the entry-level trim, which comes with only basic level 2 ADAS capabilities. The Falcon 500 can realize additional highway NOA, urban NOA, and parking assist capabilities. Furthermore, the official claimed that the memory parking assist function can memorize up to 2 kilometers of routes.

The entire series is powered by Chery’s Kunpeng super-performance electric hybrid C-DM system consisting of a fifth-generation 1.5TGDI engine, an electric motor, and lithium iron phosphate battery pack, mated to a DHT. The engine has a thermal efficiency of 44.5%, a maximum power of 115 kW (154 hp), and a peak torque of 220 Nm. The electric motor outputs 150 kW (201 hp) and 310 Nm. The standard fuel tank volume is 70L.

Depending on the trims, the battery pack capacity is either 18.67 kWh or 32.66 kWh, providing a CLTC pure electric range of 121 km and 220 km, respectively. The corresponding comprehensive range is 1,630 km and 1,700 km, respectively.

The fastest time is 19 minutes to recharge from 30% to 80% under DC fast charging.

Inside the cabin, there are an flat-bottom steering wheel, an 10.25-inch instrument panel, and an 15.6-inch central control screen, powered by the Tour OS 3.0 vehicle operating system. The high-end trims’ central control screen can also automatically rotate in response to voice commands.

Both 5- and 7-seater layouts are offered. The high-end trims can seat seven people as the standard.

The front seats feature 10-point massage, ventilation, and heating functions. A refrigerator is embedded on the center console that supports a temperature range from 6°C to 50°C and a 20L freezer that supports -10°C to 10°C freezer in the trunk. The freezer is only available on the 5-seater trims.
