GWM’s second-gen Haval H9 Warrior Edition will launch on August 26 in China

Great Wall Motor’s (GWM) Haval brand announced that its new second-generation Haval H9 is officially named “Warrior Edition” and will be launched on August 26 in China, with upgraded standard front and rear electronic differential locks, 2.5-ton maximum towing capacity, and all-terrain tires. The teaser images were initially released on August 21.

Currently, Haval sells the gasoline-powered and diesel-powered variants of the second-generation Haval H9 on the market.

The second-generation Haval H9 Warrior Edition features an all-black appearance, with details such as the blackened front grille, bumpers, luggage racks, rims, side mirrors, and wheel eyebrows. At the same time, the round headlights and stacked round taillights are retained, along with the rear external spare tire.

The second-generation Haval H9 Warrior Edition also features the following standard configurations: front and rear electronic differential locks, 2.5-ton (2,268 kg) maximum towing capacity, and all-terrain tires.

For reference, only certain trims of the current model on the market have electronic rear differential lock, along with optional electronic front differential lock, optional towing hook, and standard highway-terrain 265/65 R17, 265/60 R18, or 265/55 R19 tires across the entire series.

The maximum wading depth remains at 800 mm.

At this time, the official body dimension and powertrain parameters have not been revealed. However, these parameters are likely to remain unchanged.

The current model measures 5070(4950)/1976(1960)/1930 mm (l/w/h), with a 2850 mm wheelbase. The gasoline-powered variant has a fuel tank capacity of 80 L and is powered by a 2.0T engine that outputs a maximum power of 165 kW (221 hp) and a peak torque of 385 Nm, mated to an 8AT. The diesel-powered variant comes with a 78 L fuel tank and boasts a 2.4T engine that outputs 137 kW (184 hp) and 490 Nm, mated to a 9AT.

Furthermore, the cockpit features a brand new burgundy color while the layout remains the same. The current model offers black and black/brown interior options. The key components include a conventional four-spoke steering wheel, a 10.25-inch instrument panel, a 14.6-inch central control screen, and rectangular air-conditioning outlets on the dashboard. The center console has a rotary knob, a yacht-style gear lever, 50 W wireless charging pads, and a large number of physical buttons for vehicle configuration controls.
