China-made Volvo XC70 PHEV pre-sale starts at 41,900 USD
On August 27, Volvo has opened its China-made all-new XC70 for pre-sales, built based on the brand’s new SMA (Scalable Modular Architecture) platform. Two trims are available, with the price starting at 299,900 yuan (41,900 USD) for the two-wheel drive long-range model and 329,900 yuan (46,100 USD) for the four-wheel drive ultra-long-range model.

Consumers can choose from seven exterior paints: white, black, two shades of gray, brown, blue, and green.


In the front, Volvo’s Thor’s Hammer daytime running lights are present, each is composed of 41 LED units.


In the rear, the taillights retain Volvo’s Viking Axe design. The “Volvo Asia Pacific” logo is located under the right taillight.


The Volvo XC70 has body dimensions of 4815/1890/1650 mm (l/w/h), with a 2895 mm wheelbase.


The onboard advanced driving assistance system is supported by 24 sensors to realize parking assist and 21 NOA functions for a vehicle speed range from 0 to 150 km/h.

Power comes from a plug-in hybrid system consisting of a 1.5T engine and P1+P2+P4 electric motor(s), and mated to a 3DHT. The engine outputs a maximum power of 120 kW (161 hp) and a peak torque of 255 Nm. The P1, P2, and P4 motors have a maximum power of 60 kW (80 hp), 107 kW (143 hp), and 156 kW (209 hp), respectively.
Additionally, the four-wheel drive has a ternary lithium battery capacity of 39.6 kWh, supplied by CATL, providing a CLTC pure electric range of 180 km and a comprehensive range of 1,200 km. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.28 seconds and has a WLTC fuel consumption of 6.55L/100km.
The two-wheel drive has a lithium iron phosphate battery pack capacity of 21.22 kWh, also from CATL, providing a 100 km CLTC pure electric range. The WLTC fuel consumption is 5.85L/100km.


Inside, the cockpit features a 15.4-inch central control screen, a 12.3-inch instrument panel, and a 92-inch AR-HUD. Other configurations include 23 Harman Kardon speakers, 50W wireless charging for mobile phones, seven airbags, and ambient lights.
