Geely Galaxy today announced the global launch of its Geely Galaxy M9, a large six-seater flagship SUV, scheduled for September 17. The new vehicle will be available in six variants, with pre-sale prices ranging from 193,800 yuan (27,040 USD) to 258,800 yuan (36,100 USD). Built on the GEA Evo native architecture, the M9 features Geely Qianli Haohan’s H5-level assisted driving system and its Thor Super Electric Hybrid technology.

The Geely Galaxy M9 measures 5205mm in length, 1999mm in width, and 1800mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3030mm.

The vehicle makes a visual statement with its “Star River Ripple” integrated front lighting and “Rising Sun” taillights. The Geely Galaxy logo is positioned beneath the front light strip. Sharp air vents flank the front bumper, complemented by a silver decorative strip on the front lip.

Under the hood, the M9 is powered by Geely’s Thor Super Electric Hybrid technology. This setup enables the M9 to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.55 seconds. It boasts a charge-sustaining fuel consumption of 4.8L/100km and a combined range of 1500 km. The vehicle also debuts an AI digital chassis and is powered by the AI Cloud Power 2.0 large model, featuring an AEB system capable of braking at speeds up to 130km/h.

Editor’s comment

The Geely Galaxy M9 measures a substantial 5205mm in body length, making it marginally longer even than HIMA’s popular Aito M8 (5190mm). However, the Galaxy M9 is considerably more affordable. Within 24 hours of its pre-sale launch on 24th August, it garnered 40,000 orders. Typically, the official launch price of a vehicle is lower than its pre-sale figure, and CarNewsChina estimates the M9’s entry-level price will be approximately 25,000 USD.
