Mercedes-Benz officially announced today the commencement of pre-sales for its all-new all-electric CLA Long-Wheelbase in China. The electric sedan will be available in two variants: the all-electric CLA 300 L Ultra-Long Range Edition, priced at 259,000 yuan (36,000 USD), and the all-electric CLA 300 L Ultra-Long Range Intelligent Edition, with a pre-sale price of 299,000 yuan (41,600 USD).

First unveiled at the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show, the all-electric long-wheelbase CLA distinguishes itself with an extended wheelbase, adding 40mm compared to its standard-wheelbase counterpart. Built on an 800V electrical architecture, the new model will offer both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations. It also features a two-speed transmission, achieving an energy consumption of 10.9 kWh per 100km and a maximum CLTC range of 866km.

The design of the all-electric long-wheelbase CLA maintains the aesthetics of the standard model. The front fascia boasts a large trapezoidal grille adorned with numerous illuminated brand logos, including the central Mercedes-Benz star. Both front and rear light clusters incorporate three-pointed star-shaped LED daytime running lights.

The front.

In terms of dimensions, the China-made version measures 4,763 mm in length, 1,856 mm in width, and 1,469 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,830 mm. This represents a 40mm increase in wheelbase over the standard model. For reference, the overseas standard-wheelbase version measures 4,722 mm in length, 1,880 mm in width, and 1,468 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,790 mm and an aerodynamic drag coefficient of 0.21.

Inside, the new CLA features a redesigned triple-screen layout, comprising a 10.25-inch LCD instrument cluster, a 14.6-inch central control screen, and an optional 14-inch passenger entertainment screen. This setup is powered by Mercedes-Benz’s latest MB.OS operating system, offering AI voice assistance and 5G connectivity. The passenger display also supports gesture control for interactive functions. Notably, the intelligent assisted driving and infotainment domains were primarily developed by Mercedes-Benz’s R&D team in China.

Under the hood, the single-motor rear-wheel-drive variant delivers a maximum output of 268 horsepower, accelerating from 0 to 96km/h in 6.6 seconds. The all-wheel-drive version boasts a combined maximum output of 349 horsepower, achieving 0 to 96km/h in 4.8 seconds. Power is supplied by an 85kWh ternary lithium battery, supporting the 866km CLTC range. The 800V technology enables a maximum charging power of 325kW, allowing for an additional 325km of range with a 10-minute charge. For intelligent driving, the vehicle is equipped with the new MB.OS architecture and L2++ full-scenario intelligent driving assistance, with the intelligent driving solution coming from Chinese startup Momenta.
