Chinese NEV startup sales, Leapmotor: 66,657, Xpeng: 41,581, Li Auto: 33,951, September 2025
Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) startups are announcing their September monthly sales numbers as we are entering October. Based on the available data as of 2025/10/01 10:36 Beijing Time, Leapmotor is taking the lead, followed by Xpeng, then Li Auto.

Leapmotor

Leapmotor’s delivery volume reached a new high of 66,657 vehicles, breaking not just the 60,000 mark for the first time, but also set the record for the highest monthly delivery of Chinese NEV startups. So far, Leapmotor is in the lead for seven consecutive months amongst Chinese NEV startups.

It is worth pointing out that last week, Leapmotor’s one millionth production vehicle rolled off the assembly line. From the half-millionth to the one millionth unit, Leapmotor took 343 days.

Looking ahead, in October, Leapmotor will debut its flagship D19 SUV.
Xpeng
Xpeng came in second, delivered a total of 41,581 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 95% and a month-on-month increase of 10%, also setting a new record for itself. From January to September this year, Xpeng delivered 313,196 vehicles cumulatively, a year-on-year increase of 218%.

Notably, the Xpeng Mona M03 sold more than 10,000 units in September, bringing its cumulative sales to over 180,000 units.

The 10,000th unit of the all-new Xpeng P7 officially rolled off the production line, becoming the fastest Xpeng Motors model to achieve a production rate of 40 units per hour.
Furthermore, Xpeng announced its entry into five new European markets, including Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, Slovenia, and Croatia.
Li Auto
In the third place, Li Auto delivered 33,951 vehicles. In the third quarter of 2025, Li Auto delivered 93,211 vehicles, bringing its cumulative historical deliveries to 1,431,021 vehicles.

Li Auto’s latest addition to the Chinese market is its Li i6 five-seater SUV, launched on September 26 and has now begun delivery.
