Arcfox has officially announced that its first extended-range electric vehicle (EREV), the all-new Alpha T5 Extended Range Edition, will launch in late October 2025.

The mid-size SUV combines CATL Freevoy batteries with BAIC Shenqing extended-range power system. It features a 1.5L engine as a range extender with 40% thermal efficiency, achieving 5.18L/100km fuel consumption when operating in extended range mode. The vehicle boasts a pure electric CLTC range of 215km and a combined range of 1,215km.

The all-new Alpha T5 has 0-100km/h acceleration of 6.5 seconds with a charged battery and 7.6 seconds when the battery is depleted. Fast charging capabilities allow the battery to charge from 30% to 80% in 15 minutes.

The vehicle measures 4760×1936×1650mm with a wheelbase of 2845mm, 70mm longer than its predecessor.

As Arcfor’s first extended-range model, the Alpha T5 EREV adopts CATL’s Freevoy battery. Meanwhile, BAIC’s Shenqing power system employs an integrated design that reduces weight by 5% and optimises the range extender’s operation and energy recovery systems.

The powertrain achieves 40% thermal efficiency, 95% power generation efficiency, and over 3.5kWh/L oil-to-electricity conversion rate. The electric drive efficiency reaches 98%, enabling the Alpha T5 EREV to achieve WLTC fuel consumption of 5.18L/100km and electricity consumption of 16.5kWh/100km.

The BAIC Shenqing extended-range power system delivers 200kW peak power and 360N·m peak torque. The Alpha T5 EREV also features range extender start-stop technology that reduces startup vibration by 33% and shutdown vibration by 25%. Advanced active suppression technology decreases fluctuations by 30% and amplitude by 34%, resulting in a noise difference of less than 1 decibel between extended range and pure electric modes.

Arcfox is BAIC’s new energy vehicle brand. Previously, the brand only produced purely electric models, with its most recent launch being the T1, a hatchback competing with the BYD Dolphin and Geely Xingyuan.
