Buick Electra L7 EREV with 1400 km combined range begins deliveries in China
Buick officially announced today the commencement of deliveries for its Electra L7 Extended Range Electric Vehicle (EREV). The new mid-to-large sedan, available in five variants, is priced between 173,900 and 219,900 yuan (23,800 and 30,200 USD).
The Electra L7 is built on Buick’s Xiaoyao Architecture and features a 1.5T extended-range powertrain. It boasts a CLTC pure electric range of 302km and a combined range exceeding 1400km.
Drawing inspiration from the ELECTRA-L concept car, the Electra L7 showcases Buick’s family design language, highlighted by “Starry Sky Wing” headlight clusters and an active grille, ensuring strong visual recognition. The rear features a full-width taillight design, subtly integrating “Smart Driving Blue Lights.” In terms of dimensions, the Electra L7 measures 5032mm in length, 1952mm in width, and 1500mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3000mm.

Inside, the vehicle adopts a wraparound design, featuring a 10.25-inch full LCD instrument cluster, a 15.6-inch central control screen, and a 50-inch panoramic AR-HUD head-up display system. Powering its intelligent features is Qualcomm’s latest SA8775P chip, equipped with an Adreno 663 graphics processing unit and a 72 TOPS NPU neural computing power.

A key highlight of the Electra L7 is its “Xiaoyao” assisted driving system, which debuts with the Momenta R6 flywheel large model. This system offers advanced functionalities such as “seamless urban NOA” (Navigate on Autopilot) and “all-type parking assistance,” enabling navigation through complex road conditions.

Under the hood, the Electra L7 utilises a 1.5T engine, model LD3, produced by SAIC-GM, as its range extender. This engine delivers a maximum power of 115 kW and a peak torque of 230 Nm. The electric drive motor provides a maximum power of 252 kW (338 hp). This combination allows the Electra L7 to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 5.9 seconds, while achieving a combined fuel consumption as low as 0.5L/100km. The vehicle is equipped with a newly developed 40.2kWh Ultium battery and a full-stack, self-developed extended-range system.
