Beijing Hyundai launches all-new Hyundai EO electric SUV, starting at 16,800 USD
Beijing Hyundai officially launched its brand-new compact all-electric SUV, the Hyundai EO (previously known as Hyundai Elexio). The new model is available in three versions – Fun, Smart, and Tech – with guide prices of 119,800, 129,800, and 149,800 yuan (16,800, 18,200 and 21,000 USD) respectively.
Built on the E-GMP global electric vehicle dedicated platform, the Hyundai EO is positioned as a compact SUV with pure electric power. All three models released today boast a CLTC pure electric range of 540km.
The EO’s daytime running lights draw inspiration from the concept of lucky crystals, subtly incorporating the digital “8” into their form. The vehicle measures 4615mm in length, 1875mm in width, and 1675mm (or 1698mm) in height, with a wheelbase of 2750mm.

Inside, the Beijing Hyundai EO adopts a tiered centre console design, eliminating the traditional LCD instrument cluster in favour of a remote head-up display. It also features a two-tone, three-spoke multi-function steering wheel and a striking 27-inch 4K dual-linked screen for the infotainment and passenger displays. The centre console channel area is equipped with a retractable storage compartment, dual wireless charging pads, and a four-cup holder design.

In terms of features, the new SUV will offer a Bose sound system, a panoramic sunroof with an electric sunshade, double-layer acoustic glass, an electric tailgate, and various driving modes.

Regarding powertrain, according to previous Ministry of Industry and Information Technology declarations, the EO will be available in both single-motor and dual-motor versions. The single-motor front-wheel-drive variant will deliver a maximum power of 160 kW (215 hp), while the dual-motor all-wheel-drive version will boast a maximum power of 233 kW (312 hp). The vehicle will be paired with 64.2 kWh and 88.1 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery packs, offering five CLTC range options depending on the specific model configuration: 518km, 540km, 590km, 692km, and 722km.

Looking forward, Beijing Hyundai plans to introduce a C-segment sedan, a B-segment SUV, and a C-segment SUV between 2026 and 2027. From 2028 to 2030, a D-segment SUV, an MPV, and a sedan are slated for release. By 2030, the company aims to offer seven internal combustion engine vehicles and 13 pure electric vehicles, with major redesigns planned for popular models like the Elantra, Tucson, and Custo.
