All-new Geely Emgrand hits pre-sale November 5 with 178 hp 1.5T turbo
Geely has confirmed that the all-new 5th-generation Emgrand will begin pre-sale on November 5, with deliveries expected immediately upon launch. The new model is built on the BMA Evo global modular architecture and features a longer wheelbase and updated powertrain options compared with its predecessor.
The 2026 Emgrand measures 4,815 mm in length, 1,885 mm in width, and 1,480 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,755 mm. By comparison, the 4th-generation model measures 4638 mm in length, 1820 mm in width, and 1460 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2650 mm, making the new model significantly larger in all dimensions.
Externally, the new Emgrand features a polygonal waterfall-style grille with 12 vertical chrome trim strips, alongside redesigned headlights that offer an illumination range of over 170 meters. The front bumper includes dual L-shaped decorative elements near simulated air intakes. At the rear, narrow taillights are connected by a plastic panel bearing the “GEELY” logo, with additional silver trim and dual exhaust outlets. The model offers six body colours, 17- and 18-inch alloy wheel options, and traditional pull-type door handles.
Inside, the cabin has a new wrap-around layout. The instrument panel is fully digital, measuring 10.2 inches, and is paired with a 14.6-inch floating central control screen. The model supports the Flyme Auto intelligent cockpit system, including voice control, Flyme Link, Carlink, HUAWEI HiCar integration, and full-screen gesture operation. Three interior themes are available: Wilderness Brown, Cloud Grey, and Starry Black. The centre console includes 50W wireless phone charging and retains some physical buttons.
The new Emgrand introduces a 1.5T turbocharged engine producing 133 kW (178 hp) and 290 Nm of torque, mated to a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission. The existing 1.5L naturally aspirated engine remains as an option, delivering 88 kW (118 hp) and 150 Nm, paired with a CVT. The 1.5T variant has a top speed of 200 km/h.
Potential competitors in China’s compact sedan segment include the Changan Eado (starting at 72,900 yuan / 10,800 USD) and Chery Arrizo 8 (starting at 99,900 yuan / 14,800 USD). The current Emgrand currently retails between 68,900 and 86,900 yuan (9,700–12,200 USD) and sold 6,341 units in September.
