IM Motors launched its flagship LS9 EREV SUV with 66 kWh battery and 1,500 km range
SAIC‘s IM Motors officially launched its large SUV, the IM LS9, today. The new flagship model is available in two configurations, with guide prices of 332,800 yuan (46,600 USD) and 362,800 (50,800 USD).
As the brand’s new flagship, the IM LS9 will feature the “Stellar” Super Extended Range system and the new-generation “Lingxi” Digital Chassis. The company previously stated that a Hyper version of the IM LS9 is slated for release in the first quarter of 2026.
The IM LS9 showcases a fresh design language, characterised by a “star-ring”-style light strip integrated with T-shaped light clusters on both sides. The front fascia features a closed grille, complemented by a trapezoidal air intake and chrome accents below.

From the side, the vehicle’s design is accentuated by a straight waistline and distinctive “pie-shaped” wheels. For enhanced passenger convenience, the IM LS9 is equipped with electric running boards. The rear design features a large, flat surface with a full-width taillight cluster, a sizable spoiler, and chrome trim.

Inside, the IM LS9 adopts a similar layout to the IM LS6, featuring a 27.1-inch 5K MiniLED dual central control screen and a 15.6-inch 3K MiniLED passenger entertainment screen. The air vents are integrated into the dashboard, adding to the layered design. The central armrest area includes a wireless charging pad and cup holders, with a hollow storage compartment underneath. Furthermore, customers can choose between a half-spoke or full-spoke steering wheel, both equipped with sliding rotary controls on either side.

The second-row right-side seat offers a “zero-gravity” mode. The vehicle includes an in-car refrigerator with a temperature range of -6 degrees Celsius to 50 degrees Celsius. Other amenities include a B&O sound system, a cabin fresh air system, and an outdoor adventure kit.
In terms of advanced driver-assistance systems, the IM LS9 will be equipped with a 520-line LiDAR sensor and an Nvidia Thor autonomous driving chip.
The IM LS9 measures 5279mm in length, 2000mm in width, and 1806mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3160mm. It will feature the Lingxi Digital Chassis 3.0, a 24-degree ultra-wide-angle smart four-wheel steering system, and 150mm travel closed dual-chamber air suspension.
Powering the IM LS9 is a high-performance “Stellr” Super Extended Range system, combining a 1.5T engine with an electric motor and a 66 kWh battery pack. This configuration delivers a CLTC pure electric range of 402km and a combined range of up to 1508km. IM Motors also stated that the vehicle’s combined fuel and electric consumption is 2.81L/100km.
