Geely Galaxy M9 completes 18,000-km Eurasian endurance run, finishes with public teardown in Paris
Geely Galaxy reported that its flagship M9 SUV completed an 18,000-kilometre endurance journey across the Eurasian continent as part of a long-distance durability demonstration. The company paired the trip with a live-streamed vehicle disassembly in Paris, where engineers inspected major components after the cross-continental run.
According to Geely’s published documentation, the route was designed to expose the M9 to varied road and climate conditions over an extended distance. The company released continuous updates throughout the journey and concluded the project by dismantling the vehicle in public to show the condition of critical mechanical and structural parts.
The Galaxy M9 is a six-seat flagship SUV positioned at the top of the Geely Galaxy lineup. It is built on the GEA Evo platform and uses Geely’s NordThor EM-P hybrid 2.0 system, pairing a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine with electric motors and CATL battery packs. Two battery options are offered: an 18.4 kWh pack with a CLTC pure-electric range of 100 km, and a larger 41.46 kWh pack with a CLTC pure-electric range of up to 230 km. Depending on the configuration, Geely claims a comprehensive driving range of 1,300-1,505 km. The most potent version uses a three-motor hybrid setup with all-wheel drive and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in a claimed 4.5 seconds. The vehicle measures 5,205 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, 1,800 mm in height, and has a 3,030 mm wheelbase.
Industry coverage has generally described the 18,000-kilometre project as a combined product test and publicity exercise intended to demonstrate durability, long-distance capability, and transparency through the post-trip teardown. Reports note that Geely used the Paris event to highlight wear conditions on key components following the extended trip.
Contextually, the M9 is one of Geely Galaxy’s highest-profile models for 2025. The vehicle’s reported starting price in China stands at approximately 183,800 yuan (25,800 USD). Media reports surrounding the model’s introduction have emphasised the hybrid powertrain, range claims, and advanced cockpit systems. However, there is currently no independently verified evidence that the M9 has entered overseas retail markets, and the endurance project has so far been documented primarily through company-organised channels.
Independent verification of the endurance results has not been released. Available information comes from Geely’s published materials and media coverage of the Paris teardown event.
