On December 4, 2025, the Ford Mondeo was launched in China under the Changan Ford brand, with six trim levels priced from 149,800 yuan to 199,800 yuan (approximately 21,200 USD to 28,300 USD). The model offers an upgraded cabin system and multiple powertrain options, competing in China’s mid‑size sedan segment alongside the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry.

The exterior retains the 2025 model’s overall silhouette while updating several styling elements. The front fascia features an octagonal grille with a chrome matrix pattern, and the previous split‑headlight layout has been replaced by integrated headlights incorporating triple‑segment daytime running lights.

The rear continues to use a through‑taillight bar, but the taillight elements have been reworked, and the previous silver-chrome trim on the bumper has been replaced with a black finish. Body dimensions remain 4935 mm in length, 1875 mm in width, and 1500 mm in height, with a 2945 mm wheelbase. Wheel options include 17‑, 18‑, and 19‑inch rims, with top trims featuring 19‑inch wheels and 235/45 R19 tyres.

Inside, the central control layout retains a unified screen, now expanded to a 1.1-meter-wide 27-inch 4K display spanning the dashboard. The dashboard and centre console have been adjusted, with the front passenger‑side instrument panel redesigned in a floating style. Below the air vents, physical rotary controls and shortcut buttons are added.

A wireless charging pad is included, and a rotary shifter, with open cup holders, replaces the traditional gear lever. The cabin is equipped with the SYNC+ connectivity system, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, supporting Apple CarPlay, quick‑start technology, and a 540‑degree surround-view camera.

Powertrain options include a 1.5T turbocharged engine offered in two output levels (140 kW and 144 kW with 263 N·m torque), a 2.0T turbocharged engine rated at 192 kW and 408 N·m, or a 1.5T hybrid powertrain pairing a 140 kW engine with a 96 kW motor and an E‑CVT gearbox. All non‑hybrid variants are paired with an 8‑speed automatic transmission.

Trim options range from base models with 17‑inch wheels, cloth seats, and LED front lights to higher trims with 19‑inch wheels, larger displays, driver-assistance systems, and upgraded seat materials. This range of powertrains and trim levels maintains the Mondeo’s position in China’s mid‑size sedan segment while providing options for different consumer preferences.

Ford China has stated that the 2026 Mondeo’s Sync+ system uses an entirely new architecture and technology, which differs from the 2022–2025 models in both hardware and software. Forced upgrades of older vehicles’ systems are not recommended, as they could impact performance and driving safety.

For existing Mondeo owners, Ford China provides a trade-in program. Eligible owners of 2022–2025 models can receive up to 7,000 yuan (approximately 990 USD) toward the purchase of a new 2026 Mondeo. This incentive can be combined with applicable national or local subsidies, allowing owners to upgrade to the latest model while offsetting part of the cost.

In addition, Ford has continued to optimise the systems of the 2022–2025 models over the past two years, adding features such as mobile screen mirroring, updated Baidu Maps with traffic light countdowns, green-wave speed guidance, destination push notifications, parking recommendations, floating navigation information, and an improved voice assistant. Owners with incomplete system upgrades can visit authorised dealers for updates.
