Chery adds new Tiggo 5 Pro compact SUV to its gasoline-powered vehicle lineup
Chery is adding a new compact SUV model, the Tiggo 5 Pro, to its Tiggo 5 series. As a brand-new gasoline-powered vehicle, the new car adopts a closed front face design and is equipped with a 1.5T engine.

Currently, there are two versions of the Chery Tiggo 5x on sale in the Chinese market under the Tiggo 5 series. Their dimensions are 4400/1830/1588 mm and 4358/1830/1670 mm (l/w/h), respectively, with the same wheelbase of 2630 mm.
In comparison, the Chery Tiggo 5 Pro is longer and wider, measuring 4540/1835/1588 mm, while the wheelbase remains unchanged.

For the appearance, the Chery Tiggo 5 Pro adopts a new design language, featuring a closed front face decorated with sharp lines, slender headlights, a narrow rectangular grille at the center, and a polygonal grille at the bottom. It is unconventional that the Chery Tiggo 5 Pro ultilizes a closed front face despite being a gasoline-powered vehicle.
At the rear, the taillight assembly is embedded with the “CHERY” English brand logo. A large spoiler is also present on the roof. Additionally from the side, the roof starts to slope downward from the B pillar and traditional door handles are used. The tire specification is 215/60R17.
Power comes from a 1.5T engine (model SQRE4T15C) manufactured by Chery, with a maximum power of 115 kW (154 hp) and a fuel consumption of 7.29L/100km. The top speed is 180 km/h.
For reference, the existing Chery Tiggo 5x is powered by either a 115 kW 1.5T or 88 kW (118 hp) 1.5L engine.

It is worth pointing out that earlier in March this year, the Tiggo 5x has achieved cumulative global sales exceeding one million units since its first launch in 2017, according to official announcement.
