BYD Seal 06 GT gains 75 kW power increase with LiDAR as option
The latest filing from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) reveals an updated BYD Seal 06 GT listing single-motor variants with new 200 kW and 240 kW outputs, plus an optional roof-mounted LiDAR unit. The 240 kW motor represents a 75 kW increase over the current top motor.
The filing lists additional optional equipment, including different mirror housings, fender trim, calliper colours, combination-lamp décor, privacy and non-privacy rear glazing, and a high-mounted brake lamp. A panoramic roof is listed as standard. The filing confirms use of an LFP battery pack supplied by BYD’s battery subsidiaries in Hefei and Zhengzhou, along with a permanent-magnet synchronous motor and an EDR vehicle data recorder. BYD’s IPB(FD) ABS from Fudi Power is also included.
The updated Seal 06 GT maintains the current model’s design language following BYD’s Ocean Aesthetic. The front features a closed grille and sharply defined headlamps. From the side, the car shows a sloping profile with sharp character lines and hidden door handles. The rear keeps the floating-roof effect and full-width tail light with a double-L pattern, consistent with the existing Seal 06 GT.
Dimensions remain 4630 mm length, 1880 mm width, 1490 mm height and a 2820 mm wheelbase. This matches the current hatchback, indicating that platform proportions are unchanged while the motor lineup is updated.
For context, the current Seal 06 GT hatchback, built on the e-Platform 3.0 Evo, is available in both RWD and AWD. The RWD variants use permanent-magnet synchronous motors rated at 160 kW or 165 kW, with 0–100 km/h times of 7.5 seconds. AWD models combine a 110 kW front motor with a 200 kW rear motor for a total system output of 310 kW, reaching 0–100 km/h in 4.9 seconds. Battery capacities include 59.52 kWh and 72.96 kWh Blade packs, with CLTC ranges of 505 km to 605 km. The top speed for all variants is 200 km/h.
The new MIIT entry confirms that the updated Seal 06 GT retains the dimensions, exterior design and panoramic roof of the current model while adding higher-output 200 kW and 240 kW motors and optional LiDAR hardware. The filing does not specify whether the new motors are single- or dual-motor, nor does it list battery capacity or range.
