The latest MIIT filing reveals BYD’s new Seal 07 EV, a mid-size electric sedan with a confirmed 240 kW motor and roof-mounted LiDAR. The document details the vehicle’s dimensions and technical features, marking a notable update to the existing Seal 07 lineup in China’s electric vehicle market.

Briefly about the current BYD Seal 07 plug-in hybrid

The current BYD Seal 07 DM-i plug-in hybrid, launched in September 2025, received a facelift featuring a roof-mounted LiDAR and the “God’s Eye-B” (DiPilot 300) intelligent driving system. It measures 4,995 mm long, 1,900 mm wide, and 1,495 mm tall, with a 2,900 mm wheelbase. The upcoming Seal 07 EV shares the same length and wheelbase but is slightly wider at 1,910 mm. Both models retain BYD’s “Ocean Aesthetics” exterior styling and advanced driver-assistance features.

What’s new about the updated Seal 07 EV

The Seal 07 EV retains the design language of the current Seal 07 DM-i. Its front features a closed grille, narrow headlights, and a three-section air intake. At the rear, the vehicle has a full-width taillight complemented by a chrome trim along the upper edge. The roof-mounted LiDAR suggests support for enhanced driver-assistance functions.

According to the filing, the Seal 07 EV measures 4,995 mm in length, 1,910 mm in width, and 1,495 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,900 mm. These dimensions place it in the mid-size sedan segment, slightly wider than the DM-i variant.

Power comes from a TZ200XYAT electric motor produced by BYD in Nanjing, delivering up to 240 kW. Energy is stored in a lithium iron phosphate battery supplied by Zhengzhou Fudi Battery Co., Ltd. The filing does not provide battery capacity or estimated driving range.

Current Seal 07 DM-i models with hybrid powertrains are priced between 149,800 and 186,800 yuan (20,800–26,000 USD). The EV variant’s pricing has not yet been disclosed.
