Voyah Taishan 8 plug-in hybrid SUV exposed: max 657hp, 5.2-meter
The second model under Voyah’s Taishan series – the Taishan 8 five-seater plug-in hybrid SUV, was recently exposed by the Chinese MIIT, revealing a dual-motor powertrain system and a top speed of 200 km/h. Let’s take a look at the key parameters below.

For reference, Voyah just launched its first flagship six-seater plug-in hybrid SUV under the Taishan series last month with a price range of 379,900 to 459,900 yuan (53,200 to 65,000 USD), also the first Chinese vehicle to feature a three-chamber air suspension system with Electronic Damper Control and 16° bidirectional independent rear-wheel steering.
This model is equipped with Huawei’s Qiankun ADS 4.0 advanced driving assistance system, HarmonyOS Cockpit 5.0, 5C fast-charging, 22-way electrically adjustable zero-gravity seats, and a 32-speaker audio system. It is likely the Voyah Taishan 8 will adopt similar configurations.
In comparison, the Voyah Taishan 8 is smaller with body dimensions of 5200/2025/1814 mm (l/w/h), and a wheelbase of 3090 mm. The Voyah Taishan measures 5230/2025/1817 mm, with a 3120 mm wheelbase.

At first glance, the Voyah Taishan 8 adopts the brand’s signature waterfall style grille on the front face. A roof lidar is also present along with semi-hidden door handles.

Coming to the back, the “VOYAH” English logo continues to be embedded in between the taillight clusters.

The optional configurations are electric side steps, side radar, rim shapes, door handles, and tail badge.
The powertrain boasts dual electric motors and a 110 kW (148 hp) engine with the following specifications:
- Low power version: 150 kW and 215 kW (288 hp) electric motors, lithium iron phosphate battery from Xinwangda, 2,765 kg curb weight
- High power version: 150 kW (201 hp) and 230 kW (308 hp) electric motors, ternary lithium battery from CATL-FAW joint venture
Specifically, the high power version comes with either 21-inch or 22-inch tires, which has a curb weight of 2,790 kg and 2,815 kg, respectively. Furthermore, the corresponding WLTC fuel consumption is 0.34L/100km and 0.38L/100km, respectively.
The entire series also has a top speed of 200 km/h. At this time, the battery capacity and cruising range info have not been revealed.
