Chery’s upcoming Fulwin T9L has appeared in the latest filings from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, providing the most complete set of specifications to date for the plug-in hybrid model. The vehicle was first shown at the 2025 Guangzhou Auto Show. It is scheduled to enter the Chinese market in the first quarter of 2026, positioning itself in the country’s expanding plug-in hybrid mid-size SUV segment.

The filings show that the Fulwin T9L will be offered in front-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive configurations. The front-wheel-drive version has a closed front panel, while the four-wheel-drive version uses a conventional grille. Some variants include a roof-mounted lidar unit, and both layouts feature L-shaped daytime running lights. Other exterior elements include a continuous rear light bar, a roof spoiler, roof rails, half-hidden door handles, and wheel options in 19 or 20 inches.

The vehicle measures 4870 millimetres in length, 1930 millimetres in width, and 1710 millimetres in height, with a wheelbase of 2920 millimetres. It remains a five-seat model, with no plans for six- or seven-seat configurations at this stage. The design retains many elements from the earlier concept, including a profile aligned with its mid-size SUV positioning.

Interior equipment includes a floating central screen, a fully digital instrument cluster, a 3-nanometer cockpit chip, and the Fulwin UI 2.0 infotainment system. The cabin integrates wireless mobile-phone charging, an open-style cup holder layout, and electrically adjustable rear seating. Both front seats offer multiple electric adjustments, heating, ventilation, massage, memory, and leg-support functions, and the first and second rows can form a dual-bed configuration.

Additional features include a 23-speaker audio system with a rated output of 1080 watts, a temperature-controlled compartment operating from minus 6 to 50 degrees Celsius, and ambient lighting. Driver-assistance hardware includes the Falcon 700+ system, a Horizon Journey 6P chip with 560 TOPS of computing capability, and 27 sensors.

The plug-in hybrid powertrain is based on the Kunpeng Super Hybrid C-DM system paired with a DHT260 transmission. The 1.5-litre turbocharged engine produces 115 kilowatts, contributing to a combined system output of 260 kilowatts and maximum torque of 330 newton-meters. The front-wheel-drive version has a top speed of 180 kilometres per hour, while the four-wheel-drive version reaches higher speeds and accelerates from zero to 100 kilometres per hour in the five-second range.

Battery options for the front-wheel-drive model include 19.527 and 32.659 kilowatt-hours, corresponding to CLTC electric-only ranges of 101 and 170 kilometres, respectively. Published fuel-consumption data shows a minimum CLTC of 3.9 litres per 100 kilometres when operating in depleted mode.

In China’s plug-in hybrid mid-size SUV category, current high-volume models include the BYD Sealion 06 DM-i, Changan Nevo Q07, and BYD Song L DM-i. The Fulwin T9L will enter this competitive group when deliveries begin in 2026.
