The Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA) officially announced the naming of its first multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) as the Luxeed V9 today. Slated for a reveal in Spring 2026 and an anticipated market launch in the first half of the same year, the Luxeed V9 is positioned as a technical flagship, integrating Huawei‘s automotive technologies.

The “V” in Luxeed V9 signifies “Victory,” while the “9” denotes its status as a technical flagship within the Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance product lineup.

Based on leaked spy photos and official hints, the Luxeed V9 will adopt a practical, space-oriented design. It features short front and rear overhangs coupled with a long wheelbase, characteristic of modern new energy MPVs.

Key exterior features include a full-width headlight design at the front, a roof-mounted lidar sensor, and air ducts integrated into the front bumper. The side profile reveals mechanical door handles, hidden sliding door rails, and Michelin tyres. Cameras are visible on the front fenders, and the rear is expected to sport full-width taillights. Preliminary dimensions indicate a length of approximately 5300 mm and a width of around 2000 mm. Its short front end and square body design are engineered to maximise interior space, further aided by A-pillar triangular windows designed to enhance visibility and reduce blind spots.

Built on the E0X-L platform, the Luxeed V9 is poised to showcase Huawei’s automotive innovations, including the “Jujing” (Giant Whale) battery, an electric pop-up and soft-close front trunk, and a high-resolution 192-line lidar system.

The vehicle will leverage an 800V silicon carbide power platform. Perception hardware, including solid-state lidar, is visible on the vehicle’s front side. Given its flagship status, the Luxeed V9 is anticipated to integrate Huawei’s Qiankun Advanced Driving System (ADS) solution, featuring four lidar sensors to support high-speed L3-assisted driving capabilities.

The Luxeed V9 will be available in both pure electric (EV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) configurations. CATL will supply the batteries for both variants.

The EREV version is expected to be the primary sales driver, featuring a large battery solution that offers an estimated pure electric range of up to 400 km. The pure EV model is likely to be equipped with a 100 kWh battery, supporting ultra-fast charging capabilities.
