BYD Ti7 rockets FCB past Xpeng with 37,405 November sales, fastest growth among China’s NEV start-ups
BYD Ti7 led Fangchengbao (FCB) to 37,405 November sales, pushing the brand past Xpeng into China’s new energy top four. The hybrid SUV dominated both its segment and the box-style category, marking the fastest monthly growth among BYD sub-brands, according to Y-Auto.
Cumulative sales from January to November totalled 180,000 units, with an average transaction price of about 240,000 yuan, equivalent to approximately 33,900 USD. The data indicate that Fangchengbao’s main models were purchased primarily in high- or top-spec configurations, positioning the brand in China’s mid- to high-end SUV market.
FCB’s current portfolio includes four models: Leopard 5 (Bao 5), Leopard 8 (Bao 8), Ti 3, and Ti 7. Each model targets a distinct sub-segment, giving the brand broad presence across off-road SUVs and box-style SUVs. November sales data show that these models led their respective categories.
The Ti 7 recorded 24,019 units in November, ranking first in both hybrid SUV sales and box-style SUV sales. The model exceeded 20,000 units in its first whole month on the market, surpassed that level again in the following month, and accumulated over 50,000 units within its first 80 days on sale. Market-tracking data cited in the source lists it as the second-fastest new-energy model to reach 50,000 units and the fastest in the box-style category.
The Ti 3 posted 6,054 units in November, bringing its total to 59,726. It ranked first among pure-electric box-style models and placed in the top three overall. Its positioning targets younger urban buyers seeking compact models with squared body styling.
The Leopard 5, identified as the 2024 new energy off-road sales leader, sold 5,569 units in November and surpassed 100,000 cumulative units. It ranked first in new-energy off-road wholesale volume for both the month and January-November. The Leopard 8 recorded 1,763 units in November and 28,288 units cumulatively, competing in the 400,000 yuan (about 56,500 USD) high-end SUV segment.
Taken together, the November data indicate that FCB has expanded steadily across multiple sub-segments within China’s SUV market. The Ti7, in particular, contributed significantly to this growth, helping the brand consolidate its position within both off-road and box-style vehicle categories.
