GWM‘s Haval H9 Crossing Edition has been officially launched in the Chinese market, with a list price of 257,900 yuan (36,100 USD) and a limited‑time renewal price of 232,900 yuan (32,600 USD). The model is significant because it introduces dedicated hardware changes for overland use, including suspension height and off‑road equipment, compared with the standard H9 diesel variant. The Crossing Edition expands Haval’s mid to extensive SUV lineup with a configuration focused on cross‑terrain capability.

The Crossing Edition’s exterior modifications include a factory‑applied grey paint option and 265/65 R18 all‑terrain tyres. Ride height is increased by 30 millimetres relative to the regular diesel H9, resulting in a minimum ground clearance of 235 millimetres. Approach and departure angles are listed at 33 degrees and 26 degrees, respectively, while the longitudinal breakover angle is specified at 25 degrees. The model’s wading depth is determined at 800 millimetres in the official specifications.

The H9 Crossing Edition retains the overall body dimensions of the base H9 platform with a length of 5070 millimetres, a width of 1976 millimetres, a height of 1960 millimetres, and a wheelbase of 2850 millimetres. The front fascia continues with a grille featuring strong horizontal elements and rectangular headlamp housings, paired with circular LED daytime running lights, consistent with the current-generation design.

The interior layout of the Crossing Edition remains essentially unchanged from the standard H9. The cabin features a 14.6‑inch central touchscreen, a 10.25‑inch digital instrument cluster and a sculpted gear selector. Seating configurations include both five‑seat and seven‑seat arrangements. Front seats are equipped with heating, ventilation and massage functions, while second‑row seats include heating and ventilation.

Compared with the Warrior Edition of the H9, the Crossing Edition adds two new terrain-driving modes, labelled ‘rock’ and ‘expert’. It also features a roof‑mounted light and a different grille treatment, while removing certain comfort features, including integrated parking assist, ambient lighting, and a 360‑degree view camera. Driver assistance equipment includes Level 2 automated functions and a forward‑facing driving recorder, as defined by published specifications.

Powertrain specifications are carried over from the diesel H9, with a 2.4-litre turbocharged diesel engine producing 137 kilowatts and 490 newton meters of torque. Power is sent through a nine‑speed automatic transmission and a BorgWarner TOD on‑demand four‑wheel‑drive system with optional front and rear locking differentials. The model’s fuel system includes a dual-fuel tank with a total capacity of 131 litres, which Haval states supports a combined driving range of up to 1400 kilometres under specific conditions.

The H9 Crossing Edition enters the market alongside other body-on-frame SUVs in China, including the Fangchengbao Bao 5 and the Beijing BJ60.
