A traffic accident involving a newly delivered Xiaomi SU7 Max occurred on the afternoon of December 15 inside Xiaomi’s delivery centre in Hangzhou, before the vehicle entered public roads, according to Sohu. The incident happened during a reversing manoeuvre within the delivery facility. It resulted in a bystander being struck and hospitalised, with local traffic police confirming the case is under formal legal investigation.

On the same evening, a Xiaomi internal source told multiple media outlets that the vehicle involved was operating under manual driver control rather than any assisted or automated driving function. According to the source, while reversing in a narrow passage inside the delivery centre, the driver mistakenly pressed the accelerator pedal instead of the brake, causing the vehicle to collide with a pedestrian behind it.

Eyewitnesses reported that the vehicle initially reversed at a low speed before a brief, sudden acceleration. The left front wheel struck the bystander, who fell to the ground. People at the scene provided first aid, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation, until emergency responders arrived.

Police and emergency medical personnel arrived at the scene shortly thereafter. The injured individual was transported to the hospital for treatment. When the media inquired, the Hangzhou Traffic Police Detachment confirmed that a traffic accident had occurred at the Xiaomi Qiantang delivery centre. Still, it declined to provide further details, including the injured person’s medical condition, citing ongoing legal procedures. As of the latest available updates, no official information has confirmed any fatalities or critical injuries.

Subsequent reporting identified the injured person as a man surnamed Xia, an employee of Zhongsheng Automotive Maintenance Service Co., which provides services at the delivery centre. Authorities have not released conclusions regarding responsibility or additional findings from the investigation.

The Hangzhou traffic police stated that the accident is being handled in accordance with legal procedures and that further information will be released through official channels.
