New BYD Sealion 06 all-electric SUV battery and range info exposed, up to 82.732 kWh and 710 km
The new BYD Sealion 06 EV will be equipped with 75.616 kWh and 82.732 kWh Blade (lithium iron phosphate) battery pack options, offering a CLTC driving range of 620 km and 710 km, respectively. The corresponding curb weight is 2,040 kg and 2,080 kg, and the battery weight is 538.6 kg and 571.3 kg.
The current Sealion 06 EV features 65.28 kWh and 78.72 kWh Blade battery, providing a CLTC range of 520 km and 605 km, respectively. Its price range is 143,800 to 163,800 yuan (20,600 to 23,400 USD).
According to previously exposed parameters by the Chinese MIIT, the new Sealion 06 EV mainly upgrades its electric motor, increasing the maximum power output to 270 kW (362 hp) from the current 170 kW (228 hp) and 180 kW (241 hp), a boost as high as 90 kW (121 hp). Its top speed is 210 km/h.
At the same time, the new car’s appearance and dimensions remain unchanged compared to the current model: 4810/1920/1675 mm, with a 2820 mm wheelbase.
Continuing to adopt BYD’s “Ocean aesthetics” design, at the front, the closed front grille design is decorated with split headlights and two trapezoidal grilles. In the rear, the “interstellar loop” through-type taillight is highly recognizable.
In November, the Sealion 06 lineup (EV and PHEV variants) sold 35,081 units, marking the fourth consecutive month that sales have exceeded 30,000 units, following 30,483 units in August, 30,901 units in September, and 33,200 units in October. This accounted for 15% of the Ocean series’ November sales. More specifically, 17,458 units of the EV variant were sold, accounting for 69.6% of the lineup sales.
To date, the Sealion 06 has accumulated 134,665 units in sales since its launch in July 2025.
