Chery’s Jaecoo 7 SUV was the best-selling model in Israel in 2025, according to data released by the Israel Vehicle Importers Association (IVIA) on January 2. Approximately 13,000 Jaecoo 7s were sold in Israel, while the Hyundai Kona ranked second with approximately 12,000 units sold.

In Israel, the Jaecoo 7 is available in both in gasoline-powered and plug-in hybrid variants, starting at 169,900 NIS (53,300 USD) and 179,900 NIS (56,500 USD).

The gasoline-powered variant is equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that outputs a maximum power of 147 hp, mated to a 7-speed DCT. Its top speed is 180 km/h.

The plug-in hybrid variant ultilizes a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that outputs a maximum power of 143 hp, electric motor, and battery pack, boasting 134 km pure electric range and 1,000 km comprehensive range. Its 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time is 5.8 seconds.

Earlier in 2025, IVIA indicated that despite the tense bilateral relations, Chinese vehicles are rapidly gaining a foothold in Israel’s new energy vehicle market. China is Israel’s second-largest trading partner, after the United States. In 2024, China’s exports to Israel reached 19 billion USD, an increase of 18% year-on-year, accounting for about one-fifth of Israel’s total imports.

Overall, 101,000 Chinese brand vehicles were sold in Israel in 2025, ranking first in sales. South Korean brands ranked second with 52,000 vehicles sold, and Japanese brands ranked third with 41,000 vehicles sold.

Moreover in the pure electric vehicle sector, Chinese brands led with a 79.2% market share, selling a total of 46,000 units throughout the year. BYD topped the sales chart with 8,134 units sold across eight models, followed by Chery in second place with 6,620 units, and Xpeng in third place with 6,114 units.
