BYD ADAS chip supplier, Black Sesame Technologies’ Huashan A2000 passed US government reviews, ready for global sales
On January 4, Chinese chipmaker – Black Sesame Technologies (BST) – announced that its intelligent driving chip, the Huashan A2000, has successfully passed relevant reviews by the U.S. Department of Commerce and Department of War, and is now authorized for sale globally. BST is the only Chinese company to pass such a review.

The Huashan A2000 series includes three products for different levels of autonomous driving needs:
- A2000 Lite focuses on urban intelligent driving
- A2000 supports general-purpose intelligent driving in all scenarios
- A2000 Pro is designed for advanced, general-purpose intelligent driving in all scenarios
Earlier in January 2025, the Huashan A2000 chip successfully completed tape-out and was subject to review by the US government due to its ultra-high performance. BST claimed the Huashan A2000 boasts computing power up to four times that of current mainstream flagship chips.
According to official information, the Huashan A2000 chip is built on the 7nm process, supports full FP16/FP8 floating-point and INT4/INT8/INT16 precision computing, and the BaRT AI toolchain for end-to-end development from model training to deployment.
As a computing platform for an open ecosystem, the Huashan A2000 supports automakers and third parties in developing and deploying their own solutions. BST stated that it will continue to deepen cooperation with industry partners to accelerate the mass production and application of the Huashan A2000 in vehicle projects, jointly promoting the development of intelligent driving technology.
One such partner is BYD. Back in February 2025, BST confirmed that its chips have been adopted by BYD and were already in mass production and shipping phases.
Other existing partners include several automakers such as FAW, Dongfeng, Geely, and Hongqi.
