Recent spy photos of the Smart #6 PHEV interior have emerged, showing the cabin design ahead of the model’s market launch, as reported by IT-home. The vehicle has already completed its submission to China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The Smart #6 PHEV is positioned as a mid-size plug-in hybrid, powered by a 1.5T turbocharged engine combined with an electric motor.
Briefly about the Smart #6 PHEV
The Smart #6 PHEV represents the brand’s largest model to date, following the smaller Smart #5. The exterior adopts a new design language, featuring a full-width front light bar paired with a three-section lower intake, and a rear with a continuous tail lamp integrated into recessed panels. The rear fenders create a wide-body visual impression. Vehicle dimensions measure 4906 mm in length, 1922 mm in width, and 1508 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2926 mm.
Interior
Although the interior is heavily camouflaged in the photos, the cabin appears to follow the Smart #5’s design language. A fully digital instrument cluster is paired with dual screens extending from the center console to the passenger side. The seats are integrated bucket-style units, and rear passenger space is described as standard for the segment. Observed door panel components indicate the use of thick sound-insulating materials, which may enhance cabin quietness.
Powertrain
The plug-in hybrid system combines a 1.5T turbocharged engine with an electric motor. The combustion engine delivers a maximum power of 120 kW. Two battery options are expected: a 20 kWh unit providing up to 110 km of pure electric range and a 41.46 kWh unit enabling 234 km of electric range. The combined output has been reported at up to 429 hp with a total driving range of approximately 1810 km.
Market positioning
The Smart #6 PHEV targets the mid-size PHEV segment, offering both moderate cabin space and extended electric range. The design continuity with the Smart #5 interior, coupled with new exterior proportions and an advanced hybrid powertrain, positions the model as the brand’s most extensive offering to date. Further details, including final specifications and market availability, will be reported as they become available.
