BYD introduces Song Ultra all-electric SUV with 362 hp
BYD is adding a new all-electric SUV to its Song series lineup, the Song Ultra, featuring a more powerful electric motor than the existing SUV model’s single electric motor spec in the lineup.
Currently, the BYD Song series has the following SUV models on the market: 2026 Song L DM-i, Song L DM-i Intelligent Driving Edition, 2026 Song Pro DM-i, Song Pro DM-i Intelligent Driving Edition, 2025 Song L EV, and Song L EV Intelligent Driving Edition.

For the appearance, the BYD Song Ultra’s front face is similar to that of the Song Pro DM-i, except for a minor difference in the grille design. At the rear, the taillight adopts the BYD’s Chinese knot design. The “EV” and the “Song Ultra” tail badges are located on the lower left and right, respectively, indicating the vehicle’s identity. A roof lidar is optional.
Dimensionally, the BYD Song Ultra measures 4850/1910/1670 mm (l/w/h), with a wheelbase of 2840 mm, which is bigger than the existing plug-in hybrid models in the BYD Song series. For reference, the 2026 Song L DM-i measures 4780/1898/1670 mm, with a 2782 mm wheelbase. The 2026 Song Pro DM-i measures 4735/1860/1690 mm, with a 2712 mm wheelbase.
The declared curb weights are 1,990 kg and 2,050 kg.
Power comes from an electric motor (model TZ200XYAV) with a maximum power of 270 kW (362 hp) and a top speed of 210 km/h, paired with BYD’s Blade battery. The electric motor is more powerful than the single electric motor across all the models in the series:
- Song L DM-i: 160 kW (215 hp)
- Song Pro DM-i: 120 kW (161 hp)
- Song L EV: 230 kW (308 hp)
The battery capacity and range info still need to be revealed.

Other optional features include three rim designs, rear side trim, fender trim, front logo trim panel, rear logo, front bumper trim, and panoramic sunroof.
