Recently, BYD’s updated Fang Cheng Bao (FCB) Tai 3 all-electric off-road SUV was exposed by the Chinese MIIT, featuring upgrades to its powertrain and offering optional lidar for advanced driving assistance capabilities while the exterior remains largely unchanged.

Consumers will be able to choose from RWD and AWD. The RWD’s maximum power output is increased from 160 kW (215 hp) to 240 kW (322 hp), and its 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time is expected to reduce to under 7.9 seconds.

The AWD is equipped with a 135 kW (181 hp) front electric motor and a 240 kW (322 hp) rear electric motor, resulting in a combined power output of 375 kW (503 hp) and a peak torque of 510 Nm. The power output increase is from 110 kW (148 hp) and 200 kW (268 hp), respectively.

At this time, the battery and range info have not been revealed. For reference, the current RWD and AWD use 65.28 kWh and 72.96/78.72 kWh Blade battery pack, respectively, providing a CLTC range of 501 km across the entire series.

Additionally, the updated FCB Tai 3 also offers optional lidar, implying higher tier of BYD’s “God’s Eye” driver assistance system will be onboard the vehicle. The current FCB Tai 3 is equipped with five millimeter-wave radars, 12 ultrasonic radars, and 12 high-definition cameras for the onboard entry-level “God’s Eye” C (DiPilot 100) system.

At the same time, both the exterior design and dimensions remain unchanged: 4605/1900/1720 mm (l/w/h), with a wheelbase of 2745 mm.

The front continues to ultilize a closed black grille and a trapezoidal structure bumper. The rear has vertical taillights, an externally mounted spare tire cover, and a trapezoidal structure bumper similar to that of the front face.

Different trim options for the bumper and roof racks.

Other configurations include different bumper and roof rack colors.

On January 15, 2026, FCB’s cumulative sales have exceeded 300,000 vehicles.
