BYD‘s high-end luxury brand, Yangwang, officially launched the 2026 Yangwang U7 yesterday. The new model, available in five variants, is priced between 658,000 yuan (95,400 USD) and 888,000 yuan (128,700 USD). A key highlight of the U7 is its 1,006 km (CLTC) pure electric range, achieved through the integration of the second-generation Blade Battery.
The 2026 Yangwang U7 lineup offers both Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) and Battery Electric Vehicle (EV) options:
- PHEV 5-seat Luxury: 658,000 yuan (95,400 USD)
- PHEV 4-seat Flagship: 738,000 yuan (107,000 USD)
- EV 5-seat Luxury: 658,000 yuan (95,400 USD)
- EV 4-seat Flagship: 738,000 yuan (107,000 USD)
- EV Super 4WD: 888,000 yuan (128,700 USD)
As a large sedan, the 2026 Yangwang U7 maintains the front-end design of its predecessor. The pure electric variant measures 5265mm in length, 1998mm in width, and 1517mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3160mm. The plug-in hybrid version is slightly larger, at 5360mm long, 2000mm wide, and 1515mm high, featuring a 3200mm wheelbase. An active adjustable spoiler is integrated to automatically adapt to various driving conditions.

Inside, the U7’s cabin features a symmetrical dashboard design. It is equipped with a large vertical central control screen, complemented by an embedded LCD instrument cluster and a dedicated entertainment screen for the front passenger. Customers can choose between 4-seat and 5-seat configurations.

All seats are sumptuously upholstered in Nappa leather, with front seats offering up to 20-way adjustment, including lumbar support, ventilation, heating, and hot stone massage functions. The 4-seat flagship model further enhances the rear passenger experience with independent seats, an entertainment control screen integrated into the central armrest, and a one-touch “comfort” function that allows for significant recline, complete with electric leg, head, and foot rests. The audio experience is delivered by a premium 23-speaker Dynaudio sound system.

For advanced driving assistance, the U7 is equipped with the “God’s Eye A” (DiPilot 600) intelligent driving system. This navigation assistance system operates on an end-to-end technical architecture, notably not relying on high-precision maps.
For powertrain options, the EV models are driven by four electric motors, providing CLTC pure electric ranges of 860 km and 1006 km. The PHEV variant combines a powerful 2.0T horizontally opposed engine with four electric motors. The front motor’s maximum power has been boosted to 260kW (349 hp), contributing to a total motor power of 1000kW (1,340 hp) for the system.
The PHEV offers pure electric ranges of 200 km and 220 km, with a combined range of 1100 km. Thanks to the second-generation Blade Battery technology and advanced flash charging, the U7 can charge from 0% to 70% in 5 minutes, and from 10% to 97% in a 9 minutes.
Underpinning the U7’s dynamic performance and safety is the e⁴ (Yi Si Fang) quad-motor architecture. This is complemented by a bidirectional 20-degree intelligent rear-wheel steering system and e⁴ agile steering, resulting in a tight turning radius of 4.85 meters. The vehicle also features an upgraded “tank turn” function, enabling quick U-turns in narrow spaces in 15 seconds, alongside parallel crab walk and e⁴ parking functionalities.
The U7 integrates the DiSus-Z suspension system, which replaces traditional hydraulic dampers with magnetic levitation motors. Working in conjunction with the e⁴ system, DiSus-Z offers a suite of safety and performance features, including negative camber adjustment, road condition pre-sensing, suspension vertical kinetic energy recovery, high-speed side impact stability, high-speed tire blowout stability, rapid acceleration/deceleration pitch suppression, jump stability without excessive rebound, curb assistance, single-side lift for collision prevention, and emergency obstacle avoidance. The U7 further enhances its ride quality and control with the DiSus-A+ intelligent air body control system, featuring dual-valve, dual-chamber air suspension.
