BYD is about to introduce its 2026 Seal 06 GT and 2026 Seal 06 DM-i wagon models, with an official launch scheduled for April 2nd. The Seal 06 GT was first exposed by regulatory filings this January, while the Seal 06 DM-i wagon was filed this month.
The 2026 BYD Seal 06 GT features BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery and flash charging technology. This system allows for a rapid charge from 10% to 70% in 5 minutes, and from 10% to 97% in 9 minutes. Charging performance in extreme cold, at -30 degrees Celsius, will only add an additional 3 minutes to the charging time compared to normal temperatures.
The 2026 Seal 06 GT will offer optional Lidar integration, indicated by a new “blue light” feature. Aesthetically, the GT variant introduces new exterior colours, Aurora Purple and Portia Rose Red, complemented by new black wheels and red callipers. Inside, drivers will find a redesigned central console with updated buttons and a new column shifter. Powertrain upgrades are also expected, with single-motor versions potentially reaching maximum power outputs of 200 kW (268 hp) and 240 kW (322 hp).
Meanwhile, the 2026 BYD Seal 06 wagon focuses on extending its pure electric range and enhancing its interior. While retaining the current model’s exterior design, it will also offer optional Lidar. The pure electric driving range for this plug-in hybrid model will see an upgrade, increasing from 150 km to 200 km. It will continue to utilise BYD’s 1.5L plug-in hybrid system, powered by the fifth-generation DM technology.
Interior enhancements for the Seal 06 DM-i wagon include a new Twilight Blue colour scheme, a Head-Up Display (HUD), and a fatigue monitoring system. The steering wheel design has been optimised, and the central console buttons have been adjusted for improved ergonomics. The infotainment system will also feature a new interface. Furthermore, all trims of the 2026 Seal 06 DM-i wagon will come standard with BYD’s DiSus-C suspension system, which supports a pre-sensing function for a smoother and more adaptive ride.
