BYD’s Denza N9 PHEV Flash Charge Edition with 420 km BEV range opens for pre-sale
Denza, BYD‘s premium brand, has officially launched pre-sales for the N9 Flash Charge Edition today, with a pre-sale price range of 450,000 to 500,000 yuan (65,200-72,500 USD). The new model comes standard with the second-generation Blade Battery and offers a pure electric range of 420 km, along with 18 months of free flash charging benefits.
Core upgrades and battery technology
The centrepiece of this update is the second-generation Blade Battery, which enables the N9 Flash Charge Edition to achieve a CLTC pure electric range of 420 km.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s list of energy-saving and new energy vehicles, the updated Denza N9 features a new LFP battery pack from FinDreams, BYD’s battery subsidiary. The new battery boasts a capacity of 75.264 kWh, a 40% boost from the previous 46.9 kWh pack. However, the larger battery adds considerable weight at 550 kg, bringing the vehicle’s curb weight to 3,280 kg with a gross weight of 3,760 kg.

Charging performance
The Flash Charge technology delivers charging performance with “5 minutes 10% to 70%, 9 minutes 10% to 97%” capabilities. Even in extreme cold conditions at minus 30°C, charging time increases by only 3 minutes, thanks to comprehensive optimisations in the battery thermal management system that ensure stable charging across all temperature ranges.

Vehicle specifications
The Denza N9 is a full-size crossover measuring 5,258 mm in length, 2,030 mm in width, and 1,830 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,125 mm. The powertrain consists of a parallel hybrid system featuring a 2.0-litre internal combustion engine producing 152 kW (204 hp) and three electric motors generating a combined 680 kW (912 hp).
The current 46.9 kWh Denza N9 plug-in hybrid SUV was launched in March, 2025, at a price range of 389,800 – 449,800 yuan (54,000 – 62,000 USD).
