Zeekr 9X hits 50,000 deliveries, one in three SUVs above 73,000 USD since launched in China
Zeekr announced today that cumulative deliveries of its flagship 9X SUV have officially reached 50,000 units, Zeekr shared on a Weibo post.
Since its market debut in September 2025, the 9X has maintained a dominant position in the high-end market, securing the title of China’s best-selling SUV priced at 500,000+ yuan for five consecutive months. This rapid scaling underscores a seismic shift in domestic consumer preferences toward high-performance local NEVs
China Sales Performance
The Zeekr 9X’s commercial trajectory in the Chinese market has been characterised by high initial demand and stabilising premium delivery volume. Following its September 2025 launch with 686 units, the SUV saw a 448.4% month-over-month increase in October as the production ramp-up addressed the initial order backlog.
Throughout the first quarter of 2026, the 9X has consistently been a core pillar of Zeekr’s delivery mix, accounting for over 30% of the brand’s total volume. Its strongest performance to date occurred in March 2026, when it reached 10,060 units, a 106.2% recovery following a seasonally lower February. During that month, the 9X accounted for 41.3% of all Zeekr sales in China, confirming its role as a primary driver of the brand’s high-margin revenue.

Industry Push
The Zeekr 9X has carved out a niche in the 500,000 yuan (73,262 USD) price bracket. According to company reports, the average transaction price for the model currently stands at 530,000 yuan (77,658 USD). Zeekr’s internal statistics suggest that for every three vehicles sold in China’s 500,000+ yuan segment, one is a 9X, IT-home cited.
This market presence is being leveraged across the brand’s expanding portfolio; the recently announced Zeekr 8X reportedly secured 10,000 orders within 30 minutes of its debut. The 8X utilises a similar tri-motor hybrid powertrain capable of delivering 1,381 hp, mirroring the “megawatt” performance metrics established by the 9X Obsidian and Hyper editions.
Scaling Up
In late 2025, the supply-demand imbalance led to the emergence of a secondary market for delivery slots. Industry reports indicated that scalpers were attempting to flip 9X orders for premiums of up to 12,700 USD due to extended wait times.
Zeekr has since expanded its manufacturing capacity to stabilise delivery cycles. The vehicle’s technical appeal is centred on its full-stack 900V high-voltage architecture and the “Haohan H9” hardware suite. This system provides the necessary computational power and redundancy required for L3-level autonomous driving capabilities.
Policy Backdrop
The 9X is designed to align with evolving Chinese regulatory frameworks for intelligent vehicles. As local authorities expand pilot zones for high-level autonomous driving,
Zeekr’s integration of 48V active stabiliser bars and 1,030 kW peak power systems positions the 9X as a technical benchmark for the “intelligent luxury” category through 2027. With 50,000 units now in operation, the 9X provides the brand with a substantial real-world dataset to further refine its automated-driving algorithms.
