At the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, Beijing Hyundai officially unveiled its new brand strategy, announcing that the Ioniq brand has been officially established in China. This new energy vehicle brand represents a fusion of “Global Quality + Chinese Wisdom.”

The brand’s models are built on the E-GMP pure electric platform, supporting both pure electric and extended-range powertrains. The vehicles feature 800V fast charging and electric drive systems. On the intelligent technology front, the brand has integrated with Momenta, Qualcomm’s flagship cockpit chips, CATL, Baidu’s Wenxin large model, and ByteDance’s Volcano Engine.

All Ioniq designs are led by the Hyundai China Design Centre, tailored for Chinese users, and will be exported globally.

Additionally, the all-new Ioniq V made its global debut at this auto show. The vehicle features a multi-faceted three-dimensional design with low wind resistance styling, “Dimensional Light Blade” light clusters, and a split headlight design. The side profile showcases frameless doors and V-shaped wheels. In terms of dimensions, the new vehicle measures 4900/1890/1470mm in length/width/height, with a wheelbase of 2900mm. The rear features “Dimensional Star Track” taillights.

Inside, the vehicle is equipped with a nebula-wrapped interior design, a 27-inch ultra-thin 4K large screen, nebula lighting, ambient lights, and a “Cyber Eye” HUD.

Previously, Hyundai Motor officially announced that its electrification brand Ioniq has entered the Chinese market, two new energy concept cars – Venus Cconcept and Earth Concept – made their global debut.

According to Hyundai, it is building a tailored ecosystem for Chinese consumers called Ioniq Universe. Chinese consumers are positioned as the eternal centre – the Sun, the Venus Concept and Earth Concept are the first two “planets” revealed in the Ioniq Universe, representing the initial tangible results of Hyundai’s new China strategy and serving as indicators for future production models.

At this Beijing Auto Show, the Ioniq V is the previously announced Ioniq Venus.

Last year, Hyundai launched an EV named EO in China, which is also based on the E-GMP platform.
