Chery Fulwin A9 wagon debuts at Beijing Auto Show with 700 km range, 800V fast charging
Chery unveiled the Fulwin A9 Wagon at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, presenting a shooting-brake derivative of its A9 electric sedan as part of its expansion into additional electric-vehicle body styles.
Narrowing cost gap
The Fulwin A9 Wagon is built on Chery’s 800V electric platform, shared with the Fulwin A9 sedan. The wagon adopts an extended rear design to increase cargo capacity while retaining the sedan’s core proportions. The wheelbase remains 2,900 mm, while total length is estimated at around 4.95 meters.
No official pricing has been announced. Market expectations in China place the model in the 180,000 to 250,000 yuan range (approximately 25,000 to 34,700 USD), based on its positioning relative to comparable segment vehicles.
Crossover by 2027
The vehicle is currently presented in concept form. Chery stated that any production decision will depend on market feedback, with a possible timeline around 2027 if approved.
The model represents Chery’s entry into the electric wagon segment, which currently includes models such as the Nio ET5 Touring and Zeekr 7 GT.

Powertrain and battery
The Fulwin A9 Wagon is expected to use a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system derived from the A9 sedan. Acceleration is estimated at approximately 5 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h, based on the sedan’s published 4.9-second figure. The CLTC driving range is listed at 700 km.
The battery system, referred to as the “Rhino E battery,” has an energy density of 195 Wh/kg. It is specified to operate within a temperature range of -40°C to 60°C, with a reported capacity retention of at least 90% at -30°C.
Charging and chassis
The 800V architecture supports high-power charging. Chery estimated a charging time of around 15 minutes from 30% to 80% under suitable conditions.
The chassis may be equipped with an air suspension system and continuously controlled damping (CDC), allowing adjustment of ride height and damping characteristics depending on driving mode.
Interior and driver assistance
The interior features Chery’s Lingxi smart cockpit system, powered by a 3 nm automotive chip. The system supports multi-screen interaction and voice control functions.
A roof-mounted LiDAR sensor is integrated into the vehicle, supporting advanced driver assistance features including highway and urban navigation assist functions.
Industry push
The A9 Wagon follows earlier developments of the Fulwin A9 sedan. The sedan was previously shown at the 2025 Guangzhou Auto Show, and earlier reports and images indicated a fastback-style design ahead of its planned launch. The wagon extends this design into a larger rear cargo format while maintaining the same platform.
Policy backdrop
Chinese automakers have introduced a broader range of electric vehicle body styles in recent years, including models beyond traditional sedans and SUVs.
Data context
According to China EV DataTracker, Chery Fulwin A9’s smaller sibling A8 domestic sales reached 593 units in 2026 Q1, down 88.0% year over year and 77.2% quarter over quarter. This compares with 2,606 units in 2025 Q4 and 4,962 units in 2025 Q1.
