SAIC-Audi‘s four-letter logo NEV brand AUDI’s second mass-production model, the AUDI E7X, will officially begin pre-sales on May 8, with a formal market launch scheduled for the first half of this year. The vehicle, which had its interior unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show, is built on the Advanced Digitised Platform and debuts the AI-powered AUDI Assistant 2.0, boasting a CLTC range exceeding 750 km.

Design and dimensions

The production E7X recreates the concept car‘s styling. The headlights integrate with the ring-shaped front design, vertical digital matrix LED headlights feature high-resolution projection and scene communication capabilities. The vehicle incorporates LiDAR technology and offers optional electronic exterior mirrors.

Key dimensions include:

  • Length: 5,049 mm
  • Width: 2,002 mm
  • Height: 1,710 mm
  • Wheelbase: 3,060 mm

The rear design mirrors the front, featuring a ring-shaped through-type taillight cluster.

Interior and technology

The cabin showcases a 59-inch ultra-wide display comprising an embedded instrument cluster, central screen, front passenger touch screen, and two electronic exterior mirror displays. Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip, the system runs the AUDIOS operating system and supports AUDI Assistant, 540° panoramic imaging, Baidu Maps navigation, multimedia applications, CarPlay connectivity, and OTA upgrades.

Powertrain and performance

The E7X offers single and dual-motor configurations:

For advanced driver assistance, the E7X features Momenta’s latest generation flywheel large model.

AUDI’s first model, the E5 Sportback’s sales performance.

The first model from the AUDI brand, the E5 Sportback, was launched last September. It reportedly received over 10,000 orders within 30 minutes of its release, but its sales don’t seem to be doing very well. So far, its monthly sales have only surpassed 2,000 units once in March of this year.

As for the Audi with the four-ring logo, things don’t seem to be going great either. According to reports, it has closed many dealerships in China this year due to declining sales.
