Chery continues to lead China in vehicle exports with strong Q1 2025 performance

Chery Group has announced its sales results for March and the first quarter of 2025, demonstrating continued growth and maintaining its leadership in vehicle exports from China.

In March, Chery Group sold 214,770 vehicles, marking an 18.3% increase compared to last year. This figure includes 197,614 units sold by Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. (Chery Auto), representing a 10.9% year-over-year growth. The group’s sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) reached 62,210 units, a significant increase of 125.4% year-over-year. Chery Group exported 86,414 vehicles in March, a 2.7% increase compared to March 2024.

In the first quarter of 2025, Chery Group achieved a record high in quarterly sales, with 620,025 vehicles sold, a 17.1% increase year-over-year. Chery Auto sold 590,533 units within this total, up by 18.8% compared to the first quarter of 2024. The group’s cumulative sales of NEVs for the quarter reached 163,458 units, showing a substantial growth of 171.8% year-over-year. Chery Group also maintained its position as China’s top vehicle exporter, with 255,465 vehicles exported in the first quarter. As of the end of March, Chery Group’s global cumulative user base exceeded 16.3 million, with over 4.7 million users outside China.

Jetour Traveller

Breaking down the March sales by brand, Chery Automobile saw strong performances across its five passenger car brands:

  • Chery brand: 118,955 units
  • Exeed brand: 7,618 units
  • Jetour brand: 54,020 units
  • iCAR brand: 7,016 units
  • Luxeed brand: 10,005 units

The report also noted the successful collaboration between Chery and Spanish brand Ebro, highlighting the synergy of Chery’s technology and Ebro’s brand recognition. This led to the revival of the Ebro brand and job creation in Spain.

Tiggo 5x

Chery’s Tiggo 5X also reached a milestone in March, with its cumulative overseas sales exceeding one million units, joining the Tiggo 7 in the “million-export club.”

The company aims to go public in 2025.
