Avatr has officially launched the updated 2025 Avatr 12, a refreshed version of its mid-to-large-sized sedan. The new model offers six variants in pure electric (EV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) configurations.
The official guide price for the 2025 Avatr 12 ranges from 269,900 to 429,900 yuan (37,230 to 59,300 USD). Customers who order before May 31st can use a limited-time offer, reducing the starting price to 259,900 yuan (35,900 USD) and the overall range to 259,900 – 419,900 yuan (35,900 to 58,000 USD). Additionally, buyers can receive configuration benefits valued at up to 40,000 yuan (5,500 USD), including features like advanced ADS functions, a 25-speaker Meridian audio system, and 21-inch wheels.
The update primarily focuses on streamlining configurations across the six variants. New additions include a Dai Red interior colour option, inspired by traditional Chinese colours, and the availability of the 20-inch “Spinning Blade” wheels, previously popular on the Avatr 11, as an option. The Ultra extended-range version also gains a smart electric door set with front door welcome logo lights.
The Avatr 12 measures 5020/1999/1460mm (or 1450mm) in l/w/h and has a 3020mm wheelbase. Its exterior design maintains the “Future Elegance” philosophy with a coupe-like silhouette, hidden door handles, an electric lifting rear spoiler, and narrow taillights. High-end models offer optional electronic exterior mirrors.
Inside, the cabin retains its tech-luxury theme, featuring a 35.4-inch 4K panoramic wide screen and a 15.6-inch central control screen powered by the Harmony OS. All models come standard with front dual zero-gravity seats offering heating, ventilation, and massage functions. Rear passengers benefit from a floating canopy screen and full-function seats, providing approximately 1 meter of legroom. The interior utilises premium materials such as Nappa leather, suede-like fabric, and natural solid wood. Due to the absence of a rear window, all variants are equipped with a streaming rearview mirror.
The Avatr 12 is equipped with the Huawei Qiankun ADS 3.0 system for intelligent driving. It boasts a “large triple LiDAR” setup, featuring three long-range lidars that provide a 300° horizontal and 25° vertical field of view with a range of up to 150 meters on the sides. The vehicle uses a total of 29 sensors. The system supports full-scenario parking assistance (VPD) and includes the Huawei Qiankun omnidirectional anti-collision CAS 3.0, offering full-speed AEB and fusion perception obstacle avoidance.
The 2025 Avatr 12 is built on an 800V platform. The extended-range version features a motor with a maximum power of 231 kW, offering a CLTC pure electric range of approximately 245 km and a comprehensive range of 1155 km. The pure electric rear-wheel-drive model has a single motor producing 237 kW and a CLTC range of 755 km. The pure electric all-wheel-drive variant is powered by the latest silicon carbide motors, with front/rear maximum power outputs of 165kW (221hp) and 237kW (318hp) respectively, totalling 402kW (439hp) and 687N·m of torque. This version can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and has a CLTC range of 705 km.
Recent sales data shows the Avatr 12 sold 2,111 units in April and 5,220 units cumulatively in 2025, suggesting the quick update might be aimed at boosting sales performance. Notably, the vehicle’s air drag coefficient was not announced during the launch, which has generated public discussion and debate.
