Xpeng’s next-generation P7 has been spotted without camouflage, revealing a sharp new design and upgraded specifications. The model is expected to debut in Q3 2025, with a market launch later this year, aiming to compete with rivals like the Xiaomi SU7.
The new P7’s exterior is completely redesigned compared to the current P7i. The body features more angular styling, with horizontal light bars at the front and rear and vertical LED elements. The car also sports a fastback profile with a raised rear section and an electric active spoiler. Its A, B, and C pillars are blacked out, with hidden door handles and suspended-style exterior mirrors.
At 5,017 mm in length, 1,970 mm in width, and 1,427 mm in height, the new P7 is larger and lower than its predecessor. Its wheelbase is 3,008 mm, placing it firmly in the mid-to-large sedan segment. It will have 20- and 21-inch wheels and a staggered tyre setup.
Powertrain options include rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. The RWD variant features a single motor producing 270 kW, with battery choices expected to include lithium iron phosphate and ternary lithium packs. The AWD version, including the “wing door” edition, combines a 167 kW front motor and a 270 kW rear motor for a combined 437 kW output. Official range and battery capacity figures are yet to be disclosed.
Optional features include carbon fibre-textured side mirror covers, skirts, and fender trims. The front “wing door” configuration will return, with customizable aerodynamic components exclusive to this version. Interior features were not revealed in the current images, but the car retains sport-style front seats.
The new P7 is expected to offer Xpeng’s latest driver-assistance system, powered by dual Nvidia Orin-X chips with 508 TOPS of computing capability and supported by 27 onboard sensors. Anticipated functions include urban and highway-assisted driving, automated valet parking, and remote parking features.
Real-world images show two distinct versions: one with a matte purple wrap and another with a metallic silver finish, possibly prepared for promotional filming. The design details align with previously filed regulatory images, suggesting the model is close to the final production form.
With clear styling changes, upgraded dimensions, and performance improvements, the new P7 appears positioned to remain within the 200,000 to 300,000 yuan price range. While official specifications and launch details are pending, the vehicle is already undergoing road testing and production preparations, indicating a formal announcement is approaching.
