Geely’s Zeekr 9X adopts Naim audio, previously exclusive to Bentley
Geely‘s premium brand Zeekr announced that its new flagship SUV, the Zeekr 9X, will be equipped with the British Naim audio system. Naim has historically been an exclusive provider for the ultra-luxury automotive brand Bentley.
Naim has been honoured with the UK’s “Queen’s Award” on three separate occasions. In the automotive sector, Naim has been providing bespoke audio systems for Bentley’s most iconic models, including the Flying Spur, Continental GT, and Bentayga. For these Bentley vehicles, opting for the Naim audio system in top-tier configurations can add a premium of up to 140,000 yuan (19,230 USD).
The Naim audio system integrated into the Zeekr 9X boasts a configuration of 32 speakers and eight seat shakers strategically placed throughout the vehicle. The system features 40 independent channels. With a peak power output of 3868W, it sets a new global record for in-car audio system power, according to Zeekr.

The audio setup employs a 9.2.4.8 layout, which includes nine surround sound speakers, two subwoofers, four overhead channels, and eight headrest audio channels. The Naim system is engineered to provide a wide bandwidth spanning from 20Hz to 40kHz.

The Zeekr 9X is a full-size SUV, measuring 5239mm in length, 2019mm or 2029mm in width, and 1819mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3169mm. Notably, the vehicle boasts the largest-ever PHEV battery (70 kWh), and its curb weight exceeds 3 tons. It will go on sale for pre-order at the Chengdu Auto Show later this month. CarNewsChina estimates the price will start around 600,000 yuan (84,000 USD).

Bentley announced in August 2023 that the 18 Batur models to be built by Mulliner will offer an optional audio system branded “Naim for Mulliner.” According to Bentley, it’s “the most exquisite in-car audio system ever created, the new ‘Naim for Mulliner’ option is the result of 10,000 hours of development work, exceptional new hardware and a complete system recalibration.” The ‘Naim for Mulliner’ audio system will be a 25,000 pounds option.
