Geely has officially unveiled the Galaxy Starshine 6 EM-i, a new mid-size plug-in hybrid sedan under its Galaxy lineup. The model is equipped with Geely’s new generation Thor EM-i super hybrid system and a 1.5-litre engine, with an officially stated electric-only driving range of up to 125 km CLTC.

The Starshine 6 adopts Geely’s so-called “Ripple Aesthetics” design language. It features a trapezoidal front grille with vertical chrome accents, slim headlights with segmented daytime running lights, and a front bumper with silver trim. The fastback-style body incorporates dual waistlines and comes with traditional door handles, 16- or 17-inch wheels, and body-colored mirror housings. At the rear, a full-width taillight strip spans the vehicle, accompanied by a concealed exhaust layout.

In terms of dimensions, the car measures 4,806 mm in length, 1,886 mm in width, and 1,490 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,756 mm.

Inside, the Starshine 6 follows the latest Galaxy family cabin design. The cabin is offered in two-tone themes, such as brown or white. Key features include a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.6-inch floating centre screen, a two-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel, and a column-mounted gear selector. It runs on the Flyme Auto intelligent cockpit system and incorporates both touchscreen and physical control knobs.

Configurations include leather seats, a single sunroof, ambient lighting, wireless phone charging, heated front seats, rear air vents, a rear centre armrest, external speakers, and a 360-degree panoramic imaging system. Higher trims also support advanced connectivity functions and a 50W wireless charging option.

The Starshine 6 uses a 1.5-litre engine rated at 82 kW, paired with lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery packs of 8.5 kWh or 17 kWh. Depending on the configuration, the pure electric driving range is listed at 50 km, 100 km, or 125 km. The car reaches a top speed of 180 km/h. It is equipped with safety and driver-assistance functions such as APA automatic parking and CNOA city navigation assist, depending on trim level.

Positioned in the mid-size PHEV segment, the Galaxy Starshine 6 will compete against models such as the BYD Qin Plus DM-i. July sales data from Dongchedi show that BYD’s Qin L DM, Seal 06 DM, and Seal 07 DM were the top-selling PHEV sedans in this category, indicating intense competition.

The Galaxy Starshine 6 debuted in Qufu, Shandong, targeting entry-level plug-in hybrid family buyers. Pre-sale and pricing information is expected to be announced soon. The Galaxy Starshine 6 EM-i is positioned below the recently launched Galaxy A7, which is priced between 81,800 and 117,800 yuan (12,300 to 17,190 USD).
