Li Auto’s most affordable BEV SUV, the i6, spotted ahead of September launch
Images of the upcoming Li i6 pure electric SUV have surfaced online. Positioned as a 5-seater mid-to-large SUV, the Li i6 is slated to target the 250,000-300,000 yuan (34,750-41,700 USD) price segment, with its official market launch and deliveries commencing in September.
From the real-world photos, the Li Auto i6’s exterior bears a strong resemblance to its sibling, the Li i8, adhering to the brand’s family design language. The i6 features the full-width daytime running lights, which are positioned higher, directly beneath the front windshield. It also adopts a split headlight design, with the main headlamps integrated into the sides of the front bumper. Similar to the Li i8, the central front fascia retains intake vents at both ends. A LiDAR unit is present on the roof, indicating advanced driver-assistance capabilities.
The side profile of the Li i6 maintains a long wheelbase design, with the front and rear door dimensions appearing close to those of the Li i8. The primary reduction in length is observed in the section behind the rear doors. As a 5-seater model, the absence of a third row allows for a more compact and streamlined rear end.

In terms of dimensions, the new vehicle measures 4950mm in length, 1935mm in width, and 1655mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3000mm. Compared to the Li Auto i8, the i6 is 135mm shorter in length, 35mm narrower, 85mm lower in height, and has a 50mm shorter wheelbase.
The rear of the Li i6 showcases a more pronounced sloping roofline after the second row. The vehicle continues the brand’s two-tone upper and lower body design, and the rear features the full-width taillight cluster.
Editor’s comment
Li Auto, formerly dominant in the extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) sector, has seen its EREV market share considerably eroded by Aito, under the HarmonyOS intelligent mobility alliance (HIMA), and other brands. Consequently, it ventured into the pure electric vehicle (EV) segment starting last year. However, neither its inaugural pure EV model, the Mega, nor the i8, launched in July, has proven particularly successful. To reverse the trend of declining sales, the company is pinning its hopes on the i6. Perhaps, its launch price could be set much lower than currently anticipated.
