Nio Group has achieved a milestone by delivering over 10,000 vehicles per week for two consecutive weeks, marking a historic moment in the company’s development.

According to automotive blogger Sun Shaojun (孙少军09), during the week of October 13-19, Nio Group’s total deliveries exceeded 10,000 units, with Nio brand contributing over 4,000 units, Onvo surpassing 5,000 units, and Firefly delivering more than 1,500 vehicles. The following week (October 20-26) maintained this momentum with similar figures: Nio exceeding 4,300 units, Onvo reaching 4,500 units, and Firefly maintaining its 1,500-unit level.

The Onvo L90 has particularly impressed, delivering over 30,000 units in 86 days, setting a new record for pure electric large SUV deliveries. Meanwhile, the new ES8’s production capacity continues to rise, with CEO William Li announcing that monthly production will reach 15,000 units by December 2025.

September proved to be a record-breaking month for Nio, with 34,749 deliveries representing a 64% year-on-year increase. This follows August’s strong performance of 31,305 units.

Looking ahead, William Li revealed plans for the ES9, a new flagship SUV scheduled for release in the second quarter of 2026. The vehicle is expected to be larger than the current ES8, which is the largest pure electric SUV in China so far, measuring 5280×2010×1800mm with a wheelbase of 3130mm.

The current ES8 has generated market interest, with pre-orders exceeding the 40,000-unit production capacity for 2025. Li noted that customers currently ordering an ES8 would need to wait until April 2026 for delivery, despite the increased production capacity.

Editor’s comment

In October 2024, Nio’s sales reached 20,976 units, meaning its performance in the past two weeks has already surpassed the entire month of October last year. However, for Nio, which aims to achieve profitability in the fourth quarter of this year, selling ten thousand vehicles per week is likely not enough. For them, a monthly sales target of fifty thousand units would be more ideal for this final quarter.

This figure is quite challenging, but given the current situation, it does not seem impossible to achieve.
