Hongqi HS6 set Guinness World Record for longest distance driven by plug-in hybrid SUV
FAW announced that its Hongqi HS6 PHEV has set a Guinness World Record for the longest distance traveled by a plug-in hybrid SUV with a full charge and full fuel without needing to refuel. The car departed from Shangri-La on October 30, passing through cities such as Kunming, Baise, and Wuzhou, and finally arrived in Guangzhou on November 3, traveling 2327.343 km.
Pre-sale is scheduled to start on November 15 in China, positioned as a 5-seater SUV.
In the front, the closed grille adopts a waterfall design decorated with 12 vertical chrome strips and Hongqi’s red brand logo. Dimensionally, the Hongqi HS6 PHEV measures 4995/1960/1760 mm, with a wheelbase of 2920 mm. The curb weight options are 2,040 kg, 2,160 kg, and 2,285 kg.
Power comes from a 1.5T engine with a maximum power of 110 kW (148 hp), peak torque of 225 Nm, and a thermal efficiency of 45.21%.
Consumers will be able to choose from two-wheel and four-wheel drives with a top speed of 205 km/h. The combined system power outputs are 168 kW (225 hp) and 369 kW (495 hp), respectively. The 23.9 kWh and 39.5 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack options offer CLTC pure electric ranges of 152 km, 250 km, and 235 km. The comprehensive ranges are 1,580 km, 1,650 km, and 1,460 km, according to Chinese news outlet Sohu.
Inside, the layered dashboard features an integrated dual-screen setup consisting of a central control screen and a co-pilot entertainment screen, along with a digital instrument cluster and a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel. Other configurations include 50 W wireless charging for mobile phones and dual cupholders on the center console, an onboard refrigerator, and 12 speakers.
Both the front and rear seats support electric adjustment, ventilation, and heating functions. Additionally, the zero-gravity co-pilot seat is equipped with a legrest and supports 10-point massage function. The standard trunk capacity is 503 L, with an additional 49 L of hidden space. Folding down the rear seats expands the trunk volume to 1,977 L.
