Following the Xpeng X9 and G7 EREV variants, the automaker plans to also enrich its P7+ sedan lineup with EREV. The new car will be equipped with a 49.2 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack, offering a CLTC pure electric range of 325 km, according to the Chinese MIIT. The comprehensive range has not been revealed at this time.

Power will come from a range-extender system consisting of a 1.5T engine with a maximum power of 110 kW (148 hp) and an electronic motor that generates 180 kW (241 hp). The top speed will reach 200 km/h.

For the appearance, the XPeng P7+ EREV largely retains the design of the current BEV model, with its body length increased by 15 mm to 5071 mm while the other dimensions stay the same with a width of 1937 mm, a height of 1512 mm, and a wheelbase of 3000 mm.

The front fascia features an automatic air vent to optimize the cooling of the 1.5T engine. In the rear, the taillight cluster has been upgraded to a ring-shaped design with the Xpeng brand letter embedded in the center and a “P7+ power ultra” badge has been added to the lower right corner to highlight the vehicle’s identity.

Furthermore, it is worth pointing that the existing Xpeng P7+ BEV on the Chinese market will also have an updated version, featuring two battery capacities of 61.7 and 74.9 kWh, providing pure electric ranges of 615 km, 590 km, 725 km, and 700 km. More details are still pending official announcement.

Last November, Xpeng launched its Kunpeng super electric system, marking the automaker’s entry into the EREV market. According to the official introduction, the system sits on an 800V high-voltage silicon carbide platform, equipped with a 5C “AI” battery pack, a hybrid silicon carbide coaxial electric drive, and a range extender with an operating noise level as low as 1 dB.

The system can achieve a pure electric range of 430 km and a combined range of 1400 km. Under fast charging, the system takes 12 minutes to recharge the battery to 80% or at a rate of 1 km of range per second.
