VW ID. UNYX 08 unveiled: 5-meter EV, dual motors with 700 km range
Volkswagen Anhui has submitted official images and specifications for its upcoming ID. UNYX 08 to China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). The model can be seen as the production version of the ID. EVO concept car, carrying forward much of the concept’s design language. The ID. UNYX 08 will be offered in both single-motor and dual-motor configurations, as reported by IT-home.
The ID. UNYX 08 closely follows the styling cues of the ID. EVO concept. The front fascia features a fully closed design, with slim, upward-sweeping headlights and a centrally positioned Volkswagen badge. Blacked-out A-pillars create a floating roof effect, and the vehicle is equipped with a roof luggage rack and hidden door handles. The side profile shows dense-spoke wheels and a streamlined silhouette.
At the rear, the ID. UNYX 08 is fitted with slender tail lamps and a lighted red Volkswagen badge. The lower tailgate features a gold “ID.UNYX” logo, while the “与众08” badge on the right confirms the model name. Optional features include larger wheels, colored brake callipers, and panoramic sunroof panels.
The ID. UNYX 08 measures 5,000 mm in length, 1,954 mm in width, and 1,672–1,688 mm in height, with a 3,030 mm wheelbase. It adopts a five-seat layout. Inside, the vehicle integrates a wraparound cockpit design with eco-friendly and skin-friendly interior materials. Several ecological expansion interfaces are positioned throughout the cabin.
The ID. UNYX 08 will come in single-motor and dual-motor versions. The single-motor variant produces 230 kW, while the dual-motor setup features front and rear motors rated at 140 kW and 230 kW, respectively. Both variants utilise lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery packs supplied by CATL, although specific capacities have not been disclosed. Claimed CLTC pure electric range exceeds 700 kilometres.
On the technology front, the ID. UNYX 08 supports L2++ level advanced driver assistance, including “parking spot to parking spot” capabilities on urban and highway roads. The system also allows over-the-air (OTA) updates for continuous software improvements. Additionally, the vehicle features a large language model-powered AI assistant to enhance in-car interaction.
The ID. UNYX 08 joins Volkswagen Anhui’s growing portfolio, which currently includes the upcoming ID. UNYX 06 (a compact SUV) and ID. UNYX 07 electric sedan. The new model appears to target the mid- to large-size EV segment.
