Xiaomi SU7 delivery times drastically cut in China, now available in as little as 6 weeks
Xiaomi customers are seeing a dramatic reduction in delivery times for its SU7 Pro and SU7 Max electric vehicle models. Customers ordering these variants can now expect delivery within 6-9 weeks, a significant improvement from the previous waiting period of approximately 30 weeks. This expedited timeline is likely attributed to enhanced factory production capacity or a potential shift in order volumes.
The shortened delivery window for the SU7 Pro and SU7 Max means that customers who place orders now could still receive their vehicles before the end of the year, potentially benefiting from more favourable purchase tax incentives compared to 2026 deliveries.
In contrast, the entry-level SU7 standard version continues to maintain a delivery period of 29-32 weeks. The performance-oriented SU7 Ultra, which is based on the standard model, has consistently held a 6-9 week delivery time since September. Another model, the Xiaomi YU7, still faces a longer wait of 32-38 weeks.
This news follows reports from Sina on November 8, 2025, indicating Xiaomi Auto’s ambitious production expansion plans. With the upcoming launch of its Beijing Phase II and Phase III factories, as well as the Wuhan factory, Xiaomi Auto aims to surpass 1 million units in annual production by 2026, with a target of reaching 1.2 million units.
These projections are supported by Xiaomi’s current operational status. Earlier reports in 2025 highlighted that Xiaomi Auto’s factory utilisation rate was nearing 200%, exceeding the industry average. The Beijing Phase I factory, designed for an annual capacity of 150,000 units, has substantially increased its actual output through a double-shift operation. The Beijing Phase II factory is also designed for an annual capacity of 150,000 units. If both factories operate at a 200% utilisation rate, the combined annual output could reach 600,000 units.
Further expansion is on the horizon, with the Beijing Phase II Plus (Phase III factory assembly workshop) expected to commence production after the Chinese New Year in 2026. The Wuhan Phase I factory is slated to begin production in May 2026 and achieve a monthly capacity of 35,000 units by October of the same year. Should the production ramp-up proceed smoothly, coupled with potential acquisition plans, Xiaomi Auto’s total annual production could reach 1.2 million units.
