Leapmotor teases Lafa 5 Ultra: A performance variant, Q2 2026 debut
Leapmotor Technology Senior Vice President, Cao Li, recently offered a glimpse of the upcoming B10/Lafa 5 Ultra, sharing real-world images of the vehicle on social media. The Lafa 5 Ultra is anticipated to be a high-performance variant of the standard Lafa 5, which is scheduled for launch on November 28. The more potent Ultra version is slated for a market debut in the second quarter of 2026.
The Lafa 5 Ultra’s front fascia features an added front splitter and a prominent, outward-jutting front lip, finished in a sleek black gloss. Along the vehicle’s lower doors, new side skirts have been integrated, complementing the black wheels. The rear of the Lafa 5 Ultra is equipped with a sporty rear wing and a bold diffuser integrated into the lower bumper.
While official details regarding the Lafa 5 Ultra’s interior and powertrain remain under wraps, the extended development timeline – with its launch pushed back by half a year compared to the standard Lafa 5 – suggests it will be more than just an aesthetic package. Industry observers quoted by Autohome speculate that the Ultra variant will indeed be a performance model, potentially featuring a dual-motor setup for superior power output.

Cao Li himself hinted at the vehicle’s capabilities, remarking that its handling on mountain roads is “excellent” and that development is “steadily progressing.” This indicates that the Lafa 5 Ultra will undergo extensive testing for its new powertrain performance and chassis tuning.

Stellantis-backed Leapmotor is expected to release more information about the Lafa 5 Ultra as its 2026 launch approaches.

With an overseas name of Leapmotor B10, the Lafa 5 is being positioned for international markets. It made its global debut at the Munich Motor Show this year.
