BYD’s Fang Cheng Bao (FCB) Ti7 has become one of the fastest-rising new SUVs in China’s plug-in hybrid market, reaching more than 50,000 sales in just 80 days. The milestone places the mid-size PHEV among the quickest-selling models launched by BYD’s off-road-oriented sub-brand, highlighting how quickly Chinese consumers are adopting rugged-style SUVs that combine long electric range with competitive pricing.

The data was shared on Weibo by Xiong Tianbo, General Manager of BYD Group’s Fang Cheng Bao Division, who highlighted the milestone as the model continues to gain momentum in China’s mid-size PHEV segment.

The Ti7 officially entered the Chinese market in early September 2025 in four trim levels: 135 km RWD Pro priced at 179,800 yuan (≈ 25,200 USD), 200 km RWD Max at 189,800 yuan (≈ 26,600 USD), 190 km AWD Max at 206,800 yuan (≈ 29,000 USD) and 190 km AWD Ultra at 219,800 yuan (≈ 30,800 USD).

With dimensions of 4,999 mm/1,995 mm/1,865 mm (length/width/height) and a 2,920 mm wheelbase, the Tai 7 also boasts off-road-capable geometry: a 24° approach angle, a 25° departure angle, and a wading depth of up to 600 mm. It uses a double-wishbone front suspension and a five-link rear setup, together with BYD’s “DiSus-C” intelligent body control system and a tire-stability control (TSC) system that allows the vehicle to keep driving for up to 30 km at 80 km/h after a blowout.

Under the hood, the Ti7 features a plug-in hybrid system combining a 1.5 T engine (115 kW / 154 hp) with one or two electric motors. The RWD variants use a 200 kW (268 hp) motor and offer CLTC-rated pure-electric ranges of 135 km or 200 km, depending on the battery pack (26.6 kWh or 35.6 kWh). AWD versions add a 160 kW (215 hp) front motor and employ a 35.6 kWh battery, enabling a 190 km pure-electric CLTC range. The reported comprehensive range (battery + fuel) reaches up to 1,300 km. The top AWD Ultra trim claims a 0–100 km/h time of 4.5 seconds and a fuel consumption of 4.9 L/100 km (NEDC).

BYD’s Fang Cheng Bao Ti7 starts at 25,200 USD and offers up to 200 km of electric range.

Inside, the five-seat cabin includes up to 45 storage spaces and can expand cargo volume to 1,880 litres with the rear seats folded. Higher-end configurations equip the vehicle with a 7-screen cockpit (15.6-inch central screen, 12.3-inch instrument cluster, 26-inch W-HUD, dual A/C displays, two 13-inch rear “BYD Pads”), optional 4.5 L built-in refrigerator, ambient lighting, wireless phone charging and a up to 20-speaker audio system.

On the top AWD Ultra trim, buyers get BYD’s “God’s Eye B” (DiPilot 300) advanced driver-assist system with rooftop LiDAR, the option to add a vehicle-mounted drone system, and additional premium features such as large wheels and enhanced braking.

According to the manufacturer, the early, fast sales and broad uptake suggest strong market acceptance of a hybrid SUV that combines rugged SUV proportions, off-road capability, and a long electric-only range, at a price point that undercuts many legacy SUVs with similar ambitions.

In addition, Fang Cheng Bao’s international strategy designates all FCB-branded vehicles as Denza models in markets outside China. The Tai 7, also known as Ti7 or Titanium 7, is the fourth model in the Fang Cheng Bao lineup to reach the market, following the Bao 5, Bao 8, and Bao 3.
