Vacuum maker Roborock’s Polestone 01 hits 20,000-unit production milestone after two years on market
Polestones (Rox Motor), an automotive brand from the robot vacuum manufacturer Roborock, announced today that its 20,000th mass-produced vehicle has officially rolled off the assembly line. This milestone highlights the company’s growth, with production efficiency increasing by 150% year-on-year and achieving 11 consecutive months of sales growth.
Polestones’ primary battleground is not its domestic market, China. The brand initiated global deliveries in January of last year, achieving 10,000 overseas deliveries within one year. As of November, the Middle East region – including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Kuwait – is contributing 70% of its total sales.
The Polestones 01 commands a premium price in the Middle East. The Saudi Arabian version, for instance, sells for approximately 560,000 yuan (78,400 USD), nearly double its domestic counterpart. According to the Chinese media Leikeji, in the UAE, the Polestones 01 is one of the top three luxury SUV sales in the segment above 500,000 yuan (70,000 USD), capturing over 15% market share from January to October this year. It’s even adopted by the Dubai police force as an official patrol vehicle, serving alongside the iconic Land Rover Defender.

Polestones globally unveiled its all-terrain luxury flagship, the Adamas, in Abu Dhabi on October 18th. The brand also introduced a customised Adamas Royal Edition specifically tailored for Middle Eastern royalty, with an overseas price tag of 998,800 yuan (139,900 USD).
Editor’s comment
When robot vacuum manufacturer Dreame announced its foray into car manufacturing earlier this year, it was clear that they weren’t the first robot vacuum maker to venture into the automotive sector.
The Polestones 01, launched in August 2023, has only produced 20,000 units in over two years. This production volume is remarkably low for a Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) brand, indicating a very niche market presence. In April of this year, founder Chang Jing abruptly deleted all his social media accounts, sparking concerns about the brand’s future viability.
Nevertheless, since March, the brand has consistently sold over a thousand units monthly. While this volume isn’t high, it demonstrates stable performance and sustained growth.
