Smart #6 EHD, the brand’s biggest model, will be powered by Geely’s NordThor Hybrid 2.0 system
Smart’s biggest model to date, the Smart #6 EHD plug-in hybrid sedan, was revealed by the Chinese MIIT. The new car deviates from the brand’s traditional design, and looks more mainstream. The official market entry is expected to be next year as the brand’s second plug-in hybrid model after the Smart #5 EHD.

Currently, the Smart brand sells the Smart #1, #3, and #5 on the market.

Earlier, the Smart #6 EHD prototype vehicle was spotted doing road testing in China.
As the biggest Smart model to date, the Smart #6 has body dimensions of 4906/1922/1508 mm (l/w/h), with a 2926 mm wheelbase.
The EHD plug-in hybrid system is based on Geely’s NordThor Hybrid 2.0 technology. Recharging the battery from 10% to 80% takes less than 20 minutes, according to the official. The Chinese MIIT revealed that the powertrain is equipped with a 1.5T engine with a maximum power of 120 kW (161 hp), which is the same as that of the Smart #5 EHD.
The lithium iron phosphate battery is supplied by either SVOLT or CATL. Two curb weights are also available: 1990 kg and 2099 kg, depending on the trims.

For the appearance, the front features a continuous light strip, with small air intake grilles on both sides and a larger central grille at the bottom. The roof-mounted lidar indicates advanced driving assistance capabilities. From the side, hidden door handles and multi-spoke rims are present.

The rear exhibits a wide stance and also features a continuous taillight strip with a concave design.

The optional rear wing further emphasize the vehicle’s sporty character. The tire specifications are 255/45R19 and 255/40R20.

Other optional configurations include various headlight and taillight designs, as well as brake calipers.
